DIRIGENTES, SE DECLARAN LISTOS PARA EL CAMPEONATO VARONIL SUB

19 DE NORCECA TIJUANA, México, julio 1, 2012.— El Campeonato Continental Varonil Sub 19 se pone en marcha este lunes con ocho equipos participantes de los cuales 7 buscan un boleto para el Mundial de la FIVB que se desarrollará en esta categoría en 2013. Cada delegación participó en la Entrevista Preliminar con los miembros del Comité de Control y fueron presentados en la Junta Técnica Previa al torneo. Los entrenadores se declararon listos y compartieron algunos de sus comentarios antes del inicio del torneo que arranca al medio día, tiempo local, en el Centro de Alto Rendimiento de Baja California. Rodolfo Sánchez, Cuba: La expectativa es grande, llegamos para revalidar la medalla de oro que obtuvimos en 2010, el equipo está muy bien y ojalá que se nos dé una buena competencia. Alberto Travieso, Costa Rica: En este sentido, había otro entrenador antes que yo. A mi me han dado esta selección hace dos semanas y he tratado de ajustar desde el punto de vista táctico a los chicos para esta competencia. Esperamos que el resultado sea lo más satisfactorio posible. Daniel Friend, Estados Unidos: Me siento muy emocionado y los muchachos también los están por representar a nuestro país y por estar en un escenario como este. El año pasado estuve en Mexicali (en la Copa Panamericana Sub 19), fue algo fantástico. Esperamos competir a un alto nivel, con muy buenos equipos, tener una buena representación y jugar fuerte con esos equipos. Mark Daniel, Islas Vírgenes Americanas: “Es una nueva experiencia para nosotros como equipo, estamos muy optimistas, hemos entrenado por largo tiempo y a pesar de algunos retos que tenemos que estamos afrontando, estaremos listos para competir”. Osman Hernández, Nicaragua: Esperamos aprovechar este torneo para ir adquiriendo experiencia, ya que es la primera vez que competimos en esta categoría. Venimos de un largo viaje, pero los muchachos iniciaron ya con su descanso luego de su primer entrenamiento. Carlos Rodríguez, Puerto Rico: Llevamos cuatro meses entrenando, son niños muy jóvenes, la expectativa es clasificar al Mundial que se jugará aquí el próximo año, es un torneo duro con un pool muy fuerte con Estados Unidos, México, Islas Vírgenes y nosotros, lucharemos para llegar entre los primeros dos puestos. Stephen Thierry, San Martín Francés: Nosotros venimos a este torneo en el que prácticamente debutamos. Es nuestra primera competencia a este nivel. Tengo una gran confianza en mi equipo, Ellos tienen también una gran confianza. Nuestros jugadores han disfrutado la estancia aquí y esperamos que sea una gran experiencia.

COACHES DECLARE THEIRSELVES READY FOR THE BOY’S U19 NORCECA

NONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP TIJUANA, Mexico, July 1 2012 — The Boy’s U19 Norceca Continental Championship will start this monday with eight competing teams, seven of this teams are looking for a ticket to the 2013 FIVB World Championship in this category. Every delegation participated at the Preliminary Inquiry with the Control Committee Members and were presented during the Technical Meeting. Coaches declared theirselves ready and shared their comments prior to te beginning of the tournament that will start at noon, local time, at the Baja California High Performance Center. Costa Rica’s Head Coach Alberto Travieso: There was another head coach before me. I received this team two weeks ago and I have tried to make some adjustements tactically with the boys for this competition. We hope for a satisfactory result. Cuba’s Head Coach, Rodolfo Sánchez: We have great expectations. We come here to revalidate the gold medal we won in 2012. Our team is doing well and We hope to have a good competition. French Saint Martin’s Head Coach Stephen Thierry: We came here as a newcomers. This is our first tournament in a such high level. I have a lot of confidence in my team. They are very confident. Our players have enjoyed a lot their stay and we hope to have a great experience. Mexico’s Head Coach, Oscar Licea: We are already in process to the world championship. This tournament is like a test to see how we are and to check out the parameters of the other teams in this zone that is very competitive. Nicaragua’s Head Coach, Osman Hernández: We expect to achieve as much experience as we can in this tournament. It is our first time competing at this level in this category. We come from a long trip, but fortunatelly the boys had a rest time after our first practice. Puerto Rico’s Head Coach Carlos Rodríguez: We have been training hard for the last four months. This team has very young boys, our expectation is to qualify to the World Championship that will be played here the next year. It is going to be a tough tournament with a tough pool with USA, Mexico, Virign Islands and us. We will fight to finish between the first two places. USA’s Head Coach, Daniel Friend: I am excited and all the guys are excited to represent our country, and for being at this great venue. I was in Mexicali last year (at the U19 Pan Am Cup), a fantastic place. We expect to compete at a high level with some great teams here and we want to represent well and compete hard with those teams. US Virgin Islands’ Head coach Mark Daniel: This is a new experience for us as team, and we are optimistic, we have been training for long time and despite a few challenges we are facing, we will be able compete”.
