Thank YouA huge thank you to all who participated, prepared meals (Tammy

Aragaki), assisted financially, and prayed for the Amor Mission

trip to Globe. It was a wonderful weekend of hard work, unity of

the Spirit, and a wonderful time of fellowship. Our

team was a blessing to Amor Ministries and to the

    Helping those in need:

Water Bottle Drive for the Salvation Army

    collection today

ShoeBox Ministries Toiletry Drive through August.

With the rise of our summer heat, Shoebox is once againexperiencing a decrease in its donations. We are indesperate need of supplies to make our hygiene kits. The four top most needed items are full-size shampoo,full-size toothpaste, bar soap of any size and deodorant. We will, of course, take any kind of personal groomingitem including those free hotel toiletries you may havepicked up from your travels.

Doing a toiletry drive can be a great way for students

to earn their community service hours. Time put intomaking posters, spreading the word, collecting thedonations, etc. all counts as community service hours. The need is great, so we hope you will please helpspread the word and bring in some much-neededtoiletries for our Valley's homeless families.

Our own Mia Laity will present a violin recitalon Sunday, August 7th, at 2:00 p.m. in the

sanctuary. It is a free recital and will befollowed by a reception. The repertoire willinclude the music of Mendelssohn, Gluck,Kreisler among others, plus the beautifulMeditation from Thais, by Massenet. Thistalented young violinist will be studying at the

Manhattan School of Music, New York City, in the fall. Whenhome from school, she is involved in many of Chaparral'sministries. In addition to playing violin in morning worship

services, Mia sings in the Adult Choir and Tapestry women'sensemble. She also helps in the nursery, and attends the10:00 A.M. Report Sunday School Class. This summer, she hasenjoyed Reap What You Sew (quilting group) and The ChainGang (crocheting).

All are invited to attend this beautiful recital.

information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hearfrom everyone!

    Communion/Lords Supper

All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you

are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as

they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while

it is in front of them before passing it along.

OfferingIn our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an

act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a timespecific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving

    as you are led.

NurseryWe have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the

north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help

you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning

programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad

    you are here today!
