Dear O-friends!

We are pleased to invite you to one of the most beautiful and famous resorts of Ukraine, where the new orienteering project "O-Vesna" (O-Spring) will be held in the end of March 2018. Welcome to Truskavets! For the second time the community of our resort city will

host participants of the Ukrainian Orienteering Championship and the "O-Vesna" sports project. We were sure that you will not be able to ignore Truskavets in 2018. And there were objective reasons for this. The sincerity of the city, the charming nature and the developed infrastructure do not leave anyone indifferent!

Dear colleagues! I sincerely glad that this year, the most famous resort town

again brings us, orienteers from all over Ukraine, to the opening of a sports season. The past year has shown that the "O-Vesna" project idea has a great sense in Truskavets. Ability to visit the training camp, take part in competitions, chat with friends, drink Naftusya, feel the touch of the mountains and enjoy the fresh air of the Carpathians and, more, more ... It is hardly possible to describe all positive last year's impressions from Truskavets!

I look forward to meeting you and hope that the higher status of this year's competitions – the World Ranking Event of the International Orienteering Federation – will be fully in line with our level of satisfaction with the distances and the friendly atmosphere of sports competition!

Dear athletes and guests! A large number of different sport events are held in the city

of Truskavets every year. But orienteering competitions are special for us! The fact that international event of this kind of sport for the first time in Ukraine took place here 18 years ago, becomes a purl of the city and puts us a great responsibility.

Last year's competitions really became a highlight in the competitive season of Ukrainian orienteers. We hope this year will not be an exception.

VENUE AND ACCESS

The all stages of competition will be located in the surroundings of the popular balneal and spa-resort Truskavets, which is almost 200 years old. For further information about Truskavets please go to http://www.truskavets.ua/en/ The Event Center will be located at DYUSK "Sportovets" Danylyshenyh str., 11, Truskavets (GPS: 49.2762258 23.5174102).

Truskavets has direct train connections with Vinnitsa, Dnipro, Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky. You can also get bus (every 30-40 min.) from the Lviv Train Terminal (1,5 hours) or from the Stryi railway station (40 min.); or suburban train Lviv-Stryi-Truskavets. TERRAIN AND MAPS

Sprint – city center and park area. Mostly residential area with many paths and roads. A large

number of synthetic and plant parts, runability and visibility are very good. Scale 1: 4 000,

H 2,5m.

Other – mountain cliffs and ravines areas. Spruce and deciduous forest with minor open areas

and a few marshes. The ground is often covered with grass. Runability – from good to very

reduced. Developed network of roads and paths. The soil is loamy, sometimes swampy.

Dangerous places – steep slopes. The scale of the Middle distances maps is 1:10 000, H 5m;

The scale of the Long distances map for M/W 21E 1:15 000, H 5m, for other groups - 1:10 000,

SportIdent system will be used at the competition. Don`t forget to specify SI-cards number

during entering through the UOF eventor! Participants, who do not have the SI-cards can rent

them for 50 UAH. The athlete must pay penalty 1000 UAH in case of SI-card loss.

TRAINING CAMP ENRTIES

The deadline for entries to the training camp is 20 March 2018 (20:00).

Entries should made separately through the “Eventor of the Ukrainian Orienteering Federation”

entering specify the days your participation.

The cost of the participation in the training camp is 100 UAH per person per day.

All entries should be confirmed with payment by cash during the accreditation before training

camp or during your first training race.

EMBARGO AREAS

Embargo areas are marked on the map.

These areas are not allowed to visit by

athletes, coaches and other persons, who

may affect the result of athletes.

The city area, which is limited by the ring

road of Truskavets, is open to visit any time

except 29.03.2018. However, it is

forbidden to carry out training with a map,

testing runs in any part of the city.

Exceptions are to the official training camp

races "O-Vesna" project.

ACCOMMODATION

Athletes will have a wide choice of accommodations either in hotels of different standards, in

self-catering flats or appartments, youth hostels or group accommodations.
