Welcome...

We invite you to attend the annual autumn on property bull sale at Killimicat Station, Tumut.

The offering comprises of a stellar group of bulls that have been proven superior for growth, type and soundness. The sire lines represented reflect strong commercial relevance and a balance of sensible birth weight, growth and carcase attributes.

Seasonally, it has been an erratic period given a failed spring in 2017 and saved a little in terms of useful early December rainfall. The bulls have been managed on some summer crop, lucerne and late response pasture. Supplement of lucerne/ryegrass silage has allowed ongoing summer/autumn growth in sale bulls.

Thank you to the Reiland staff who have worked tirelessly, particularly given the additional workload imposed by the successful Reiland Invitational female sale in February held at Gundagai.

Hoping to catch up with you on Wednesday, 18th April for the proud offering of bulls.

Feel free to contact any of the Reiland team for future information.

Kind regards,Mark Lucas

INSPECTIONSCattle will be yarded in pens at Killimicat Station, (and will) be available for inspection from 10.30 am on sale day, or inspection can be arranged at any time prior to the sale by appointment with the agents or through Harry or Mark Lucas.

REBATEA rebate of 2.5% of the purchase price is available to registered livestock agents who either attend the sale with or on behalf of their client, or who introduce their client in writing prior to the sale. In each case, to be eligible for the rebate, the agent must settle on their clients behalf within the trading terms of the settling agent. To qualify for this rebate they must introduce the client in writing to the vendor (via fax 0269 442360 or mail or email [email protected]) prior to the sale. Agents not meeting the above terms will be entitled to a 1% rebate.

BULL GUARANTEEReiland principals guarantee the structural soundness and fertility of all bulls. All bulls have been structurally assessed with those not meeting specifications culled.

All bulls have had their penises extended and assessed by an independent vet. To ensure that the purchased bull works to his capacity, stockman observation and management (such as rotating bulls or multiple bull joining’s) are to be carried out.

Bulls should be exposed to an annual breeding soundness test (pre joining) and usual Vibrovax booster vaccinations. In the event of a structural breakdown such as feet, legs or corkscrew penis within 2 years a satisfactory replacement (if available) or a credit equal to the purchase price (less salvage) is offered. This request for a replacement must be accompanied by a vet certificate and lodged with the vendor within 12 months of purchase or joining.

REGISTRATION & TRANSFERAs indicated on the Lots, cattle are either HBR or APR. Those eligible bulls will be transferred by the vendor at no charge. Full pedigree information is available upon request. Bulls will be individually penned. Please register at the Sale Office at the Sale Complex on the sale day. If possible, advise AA Society herd prefix.

NLIS Tag / Freeze BrandingAll bulls will have NLIS ear tags attached. All bulls catalogued will betransferred to the successful purchaser’s PIC. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to check the transfer of purchased animals via the NLIS system. NLIS numbers will be provided on invoice. All bulls will be freeze-branded with the bull ID. All bulls will be transferred by the agents commissioned to conduct the sale.

BIDDING / BUYER NUMBER SYSTEMThe bidding / buyer number system will be used.

HEALTH• Cattle purchased for interstate can be held on farm, testing

and agistment at purchaser’s risk. None of the cattle offered for sale have received treatment for their feet. All bulls will be transferred by the agents commissioned to conduct the sale.

• All bulls will be drenched and have PFIZER STAR health PROTOCOLS within one month of sale. (See advertisement within).

• VIBRIOSIS - Many of the district veterinarians have highlighted the annual vaccination of your bulls as mandatory. This is a venereal disease causing early embryonic death and resultant returns to service. The disease can be inadvertently introduced via trade cattle that are infected. All Reiland bulls are vaccinated for Vibriosis. However annual booster shots are strongly recommended. Treat all bulls six weeks prior to mating annually; check Pfizer Star protocols.

• BOVINE JOHNES DECLARATION - Reiland Angus is J-BAS 6 accredited under the BJD Market Assurance Program. All cattle are free to travel to all areas including Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. MN2 herds should note these cattle are available to your herds subject to the standard current animal intake rate. Gundagai LHPA is classified as protected.

• BOVINE VIRAL DIARRHOEA VIRUS - All bulls will be DNA tested for Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus (BVDV): a complex of Pestivirus. This testing will guarantee that clients will not purchase a persistently infected (PI) animal that can carry the disease without showing any symptoms. We see it as a Duty of Care in providing assurance on all aspects of disease minimisation, whether they are going to a naturally immune or naïve herd structure or not.

RECESSIVE GENETIC CONDITIONAll lots are clearly marked with their respective genetic status. Any pending results will present on the summary sheet on sale day.

COUPLING REGISTERThis had been initiated to allow buyers to consider whether a common interest in a particular animal can be discovered. If a stud from a heightened JBAS level herd is interesting in purchasing a quarter share, semen interest only, that this interest is then duly passed onto either:

1) Interested parties prior to sale or2) Successful buyer post sale

This register will streamline any opportunities, negotiations and established market values more accurately.

CARTAGE / TRANSPORTREILAND ANGUS will co-ordinate transport details and arrange delivery at buyer’s convenience. Freight assistance to QLD Border available. We strongly recommend that your bulls are fully insured immediately post sale.

AUCTIONS PLUSThe bull sale is interlinked with Auctions plus. Usual protocol to register for bidding is required through this channel.

PHONE BIDDINGPhones will be available for bidding. To ensure you get a line, please contact agents to arrange phone bidding 24 hours prior to sale.
