About the Tiscon Readybuild Client

One of Tata Tiscon Readybuild’s clients who has been in the construction business for the last six years, essentially playing the role

of builders in its premium residential buildings and commercial building projects approached us to help them solve some problems

that they were facing.

This client of ours has an annual steel consumption capacity of 4000MT and their current supplier for material is Tata Steel (CAB).

About the Tiscon Readybuild Service

India, which is one of the most rapidly urbanising countries in the world, is a country where various new innovations in the

construction industry, have taken off. One such important innovation is Cut and Bend rebar services.

This is a downstream service which essentially helps in reducing costs and delivers cut and bent rebars according to your bar-bending

schedules, this way there is a complete elimination of waste disposal and a significant cutting down of labour costs.

The Tiscon Readybuild Solution

Cut and Bend (CAB) was first recommended to the client by a consultant who had seen the benefits in terms of time reduction that the use of CAB brought about at some construction sites. It was also due to the space constraints that the customer was facing, that he felt that the benefit lay in buying fabricated rebars.

The customer approached us with their specific requirements and we ensured

delivery of customised lot sizes.

It removed the hassles of inventory-keeping and at the same time reduced

the working capital requirements.

Other benefits included improvement in the quality of construction and

reduction in pilferage.

Besides all these advantages, Tata Tiscon was also able to successfully add value to

the project with mass control over wastage.

CAB sections not only generated zero scrap but also minimised labour and other costs, leading to

cost reduction of Rs.1850-2050 per tonne.

The inventory requirement was reduced from a month to 10 days, which contributed to the total savings.

Finally, the duration of the project was reduced owing to timely delivery on the part of Tata Tiscon.
