1. What are the reasons for implementing the direct R1 tests?

To enable employers to quickly meet the minimum R1 upgrading requirements and be well prepared to comply with the minimum R1 requirements come 2017

2. Can a company make dual (local and overseas) SA/MS/ Direct R1 applications for the same worker?

A Company who has already enrolled their workers for local SA tests MUST

complete the course and test programme (inclusive of those who failed and can go

for 1 retest directly) at local ATTCs.

3. Can employers send their existing workers not eligible for Coretrade registration for direct R1 test ?

Yes, employers can enrol any worker for direct R1 tests if they think that the workers

are skilled enough.

4. How to bring in workers whose (POE) > 10 years?

Upon receiving test results, employers are to register their workers for Multi-

Skilling at http://www.bca.gov.sg/MULTISKILL/. Only when worker’s MS status is

approved, then employer is able to submit his work permit application

in MOM Portal.

5. What are the other requirements for CoreTrade workers registered with OTCs for training and skills assessment?

A worker who has passed SA test shall report for verification in Singapore within 14 days unless otherwise. The employer will be notified to collect test results from BCA Enrolment. No transfer of employer (before and after test) or the WTU application will not be supported.
