    KNX TH65-AP measures temperature and air

    humidity in indoor or outdoor areas and calcu-

    lates the dew point. External measured values

    may be received by the bus and mixed with the

    own measured values to make up a total temper-

    ature and total humidity.

    It is possible to set seven switching outputs

    (adjustable threshold values) as well as logic

    gates by means of the KNX software ETS.

    KNX TH65-AP has a PI controller for a heating and

    a cooling system (temperature) and ventilation

    (humidity).

    PI controller for ventilation (according to CO2 and humidity) and for heating and cooling (according to temperature)

    KNX AQS/TH measures CO2 concentration, tem-

    perature and air humidity in a room and cal-

    culates the dew point. Eleven switching outputs

    with adjustable threshold values as well as logic

    gates can be set by means of the KNX software

    ETS. The sensor may imply value of other

    devices and thus calculate room averages.

    KNX AQS/TH has a PI controller for ventilation

    (according to CO2 concentration and air humidi-

    ty) and for heating and cooling (according to

    temperature) and can pass a warning to the bus

    as soon as the comfort field (according to DIN

    1946) is left.

    The Weather Station Suntracer KNX-GPS pro-

    vides the current meteorological data (bright-

    ness, wind speed, pecipitation and temperature)

    for KNX networks. The GPS signal (international

    time signal, position) is received additionally. The

    devices can therefore calculate the position of

    the sun and handle time functions (calendar/

    week time switch).

    All measured and calculated data may be used

    for the control of switching outputs which

    depend on limit values. The states may be linked

    by means of AND and OR logic gates.

    Functions like tracking of the slats and shadow

    edge can be realised with the integrated shading

    control for 6 fronts.

    KNX Interface for WS1000 Color•

    The interface is plugged on the board of the Con-

    trol System WS1000 Color and allows for com-

    muniction with the KNX bus system. Weather

    data and movement/switching commands can

    be transferred in both directions. So on the one

    hand the data of WS1000 Color may be used in

    the KNX system, on the other hand drives and

    devices in the KNX system may be controlled by

    the automatic of the WS1000 Color.

    System Devices

    The KNX WS1000 Color is an operating and con-

    trol unit for drives and devices in the KNX sys-

    tem. Additional radio channels allow for direct

    wireless connection of drives and devices to the

    control. The integrated automatic functions offer

    manifold settings for shading, ventilation, heat-

    ing/cooling, light and also for gutter heatings.

    The Data of motion and smoke detectors may be

    included, too.

    The key element of the KNX WS1000 Color is the

    colour display with touch functionality. It pro-

    vides operation of the connected devices and

    adjustment of settings. The user interface was

    designed according to evolutionary-biological

    findings and easily guides through the set-up

    steps.

    If no operation is made the display shows the

    current weather information, the course of the

    sun or rain and snow fall.

    Apart from free adjustable display elements, the

    KNX touch panel for room automation offers

    internal automatic functions for shading (sun

    protection/screen) and the control of room cli-

    mate (heating, cooling, ventilation).

    The colour display with touch functionality

    shows data and allows for the switching of light

    and shading and setting of the automatic. Addi-

    tionally, four binary inputs and the radio remote

    control Remo 8 (available separately) may be

    used for manual operation. KNX Touch One is

    available white or aluminium coloured and has

    got an integrated temperature and humidity sen-

    sor. The internal automatic is completed by bus

    functions for timing and scene control.

    The sensor system of the weather stations is pro-

    tected by the compact housing which is provid-

    ed with a fixture for the assembly to the wall or

    pole. Brightness, wind speed, temperature and

    precipitation are collected.

    The P03/1-RS485 has one sun sensor and aDCF77 receiver (date, time).

    The P03/3-RS485 has three sun sensors (east,south, west) and a DCF77 receiver (date, time).

    P03/3-RS485 is also available for the WAGO I/O

    System (with adapted sending time for data).

    The P03/3-RS485-GPS has three sun sensors(east, south, west) and a GPS receiver (UTC,

    position). The device additionally exports the

    position of the sun (azimuth, elevation).

    The sensor system of the P03-Modbus Weather

    Stations is protected by the compact housing

    which is provided with a fixture for the assembly

    to the wall or pole. Brightness, wind speed, tem-

    perature and precipitation are collected.

    The P03/3-Modbus-GPS in addition receivesthe GPS signal and exports time (UTC), position

    (degree of longitude and latitude) and position of

    the sun (azimuth, elevation).

    The GPS-DCF Converter may be connected to a

    DCF77 signal input as an alternative to a DCF77

    antenna. The device receives the international

    time UTC via GPS and transcribes this informa-

    tion to the DCF77 protocol.

    The system/device the GPS-DCF Converter is con-

    nected to, must be equipped with the function

    “conversion of UTC time to local time“.

    The intelligent motor control units control two

    respectively four drives (IMSG-UC-2H, IMSG-UC-

    4H). The voltage of the central and subsidiary

    inputs is variable. Central control may be set to

    „dead man’s control“ or „self-retaining mode“

    selectively.

    Keys for manual operation of the motors and

    status LEDs are integrated in the devices. For

    local manual operation, not interlocked up-down

    push-buttons are connected. The reaction of the

    buttons (standard or comfort mode) may be set.

    Furthermore, it is possible to store a movement

    position for each drive.

    The motor control units control two respective-

    ly four drives of blinds with double position

    switches (MSG-2H-DES, MSG-4H-DES). A central

    input (up/down), an ES input for blocking of local

    operation and an SP input for dead man’s control

    of central and local operation are available as

    special inputs.

    Keys for manual operation of the motors and

    status LEDs are integrated in the devices. For

    local manual operation, not interlocked up-down

    push-buttons are connected.

    MSG-2H-DES

    MSG-4H-DES

    The intelligent motor control unit with inte-

    grated power supply unit allows for central or

    group control of three 24 VDC motors (e. g. of

    indoor shadings). For local manual operation,

    not interlocked up-down push-buttons are con-

    nected. Due to the integrated automated time

    system for buttons, a short keypress causes

    automatic movement to the end position, a long

    keypress causes slow movement (for exact posi-

    tioning or adjustment of the slat angle).

    WS1000 Color and WS1 Color are operatingand control units for building technology in con-

    servatories, private homes and smaller commer-

    cial buildings. The automatic control ensures

    optimal room conditions and provides safety and

    comfort functions. Due to their flexible connec-

    tion and set-up options the controls even meet

    sophisticated requirements.

    The key element is the colour display withtouch functionality. It provides operation ofthe connected devices and adjustment of set-

    tings. The user interface was designed according

    to evolutionary-biological findings and easily

    guides through the set-up steps.

    sun or rain and snow fall. If the ambient bright-

    ness is low the display automatically darkens in

    order to save energy.

    Drives and devices are connected to the control

    systems directly. Radio channels for wireless

    connection are available additionally. Thus

    motors of shading elements or windows may be

    controlled via wireless motor control units RF-

    MSG. Systems like heating or illumination may

    be switched via wireless relays RF Relay. Venti-

    lation units of Elsner Elektronik communicate

    with the controls directly via radio, an addition-

    al module is not required.

    The main automatic functions of the controlsystems are sun protection and ventilation.

    Awnings, blinds and shutters are controlled

    according to brightness and also according to

    the direction and height of the sun. This helps to

    avoid direct solar irradiation while simultaneous-

    ly enabling natural daylight illumination of the

    room to the largest possible extent. Furthermore,

    the shading elements are not lowered until the

    required room temperature is reached helping to

    utilize solar heat.

    Irrespective of this, the controls protect the con-

    nected shading elements against damages due

    to wind or rain. The integrated clock allows real-

    ization of comfort functions such as closing of

    shutters as visual protection.

    The automatic ventilation depends on temper-ature and air humidity. For example, in the sum-

    mer, the windows are opened during night time

    for cooling purpose until the required indoor

    temperature is reached. A rain alarm function

    prevents damages due to humidity.

    Also heaters, motor-driven ventilationunits, and air conditioning systems are reg-ulated by the controls ensuring that the required

    indoor temperature is maintained. In areas with

    frequent snowfall a roof gutter heating ensures

    unobstructed outlet of snowmelt.

    Safety inside the building is improved by con-nection of smoke and motion detectors. Smoke

    alarm starts ventilation (smoke extraction) and

    creates escape routes by retraction of shading

    elements. Alarm from a motion detector closes

    windows and can be forwarded e. g. to an alarm

    system or illumination.

    Also individual requirements, such as timer-

    based control of a pond pump or atmospheric

    illumination of garden and house are realized by

    the Building Control Systems WS1000 Color and

    WS1 Color.

    The wireless hand-held transmitter offers an up,

    down and stop control for 8 channels and can be

    taught in to different Elsner Elektronik devices.

    As long as the remote control is not in use, it can

    be stored safely in the supplied magnetic wall-

    mounting.
