Page 8: Building A Turnpike

HOW DID IT BEGIN?

–I started with my Eagle Scout project, which requires one to do a service-oriented project for the community.

–I talked with a friend of scouting who gave me the idea of looking at a local Park (Carkeek Park).

–The Park gave me the idea of creating a Turn Pike.

WHAT IS A TURN PIKE?

A turnpike is used to stop water from gathering on the trails.

It consists of crushed rock, large heavy rock, lumber and rebar.

Tools consist of Shovels, Wheel Barrows, Pick-Pulaski and Log Carriers
