Observations: Journaling Day 1 Sessions on …..
provided foundation for higher level concepts; some of them were introduced abruptly and I could not follow; Have readied my queries like -………
Day 2 Sessions on …..Started wondering what role I shall find for me as WaSH Educator; Found a role model in Mr/Ms XYZ; Wrote my goals for long term
Day 3 Sessions on ……I think I need to revise my goals, after SDGs are announced; session on Regulations was detailed, but I am looking for creating my role in restoration of water bodies
Day 4 Sessions on …….I made much more of my exposure visit, could not get good pics, as it was getting dark faster, morning session was a washout, I have to take notes from fellow trainees, Learnt about Ramsar Convention, COP, and got a list of Ramsar sites in India
Day 5 Interactive session, wanted some more hands-on-exercises, would ask on coming days
Day 6 Interactive sessions, games, thought of my own plans for community mobilization, wrote down a couple of them-
Day 7……10

Hypothesis & Validation
Hypothesis # 1 2 days old water has less microbes than fresh water
Found to have 7 mg Dissolved oxygen & 10% less microbes than tap fresh water
Hypothesis # 2 Harvested Rain Water is potable up to 6 months
Checked the stagnant water in the Vaw for contamination, found not suitable for drinking
Hypothesis # 3 Water springs are taller in hills
Atmospheric pressure is lower in hills than it is in plains, so water saturated aquifer throw up water higher
Hypothesis # 4 Waste biodegradation is slower at high altitudes
Low temperature slows down the growth of microbes and so un-decomposed animal bodies found even after long time of their death
Hypothesis # 5 Liquid soap is more germicidal than cake soap
No truth, technique of hand-washing is more important

Conclusions & Scientific InterpretationConclusions Scientific
Interpretation• Water body is like a mirror for its Watershed
All watersheds deliver a variety of pollution to their downstream water bodies, human actions are altering watersheds directly and indirectly
• Wetlands are like kidneys for Earth
Help purify waste, absorb carbon dioxide….
• Water Audit can lower water footprint
Water use efficiency, lessened burden on water supply/distribution, triggers water conservation, promotes water re-use and re-cycling• Water accounting
needs a national strategy
Several unaccounted for contributions, like from vegetation, evaporation, etc. can be estimated
