Buddy Program Mental Health Respite:Carer Support assists Carers of people with mental illness to maintain their caring role. The Buddy Program provides tutoring and mentoring support for young children and young people of Carers registered on the Mental Health Respite: Carer Support program. Benefits To Buddy Meeting weekly with a volunteer at a school or other community venue who can assist with tutoring of core school subjects and personal mentoring of life issues. Eligibility Aged between 6 - 17 years Listed on MHR Carer’s intake or annual review form Enrolled in a recognised education program at Primary, Secondary or Flexi school Require specific tutoring in core subjects Committed to weekly meeting with volunteer This service is part of the Mental Health Respite: Carer Support Program which is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
