Battery performance
Under no circumstances should non-rechargeable batteries be used.Only use the approved batteries, type:rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride(Ni-MH); size AAA; capacity550mAh 1.2v. Using unapprovedbatteries will invalidate your guaranteeand may damage the telephone.
To keep your batteries in the bestcondition, leave the handset off thebase station for a few hours at a time.(after the intial 16 hour charge).
Please note, however, that new NickelMetal Hydride (Ni-MH) batteries do not reach their full capacity until they have been in normal use forseveral days.
Fully discharging the batteries at least once a week will help them lastas long as possible. However, the chargecapacity of rechargeable batteries willreduce with time as they wear out, so reducing the talk/standby time of the handset. Eventually they will need to be replaced. New batteriescan be obtained from the BT SynergyHelpline 08706 058 047.
Note: Under ideal conditions, thehandset batteries should give about 14 hours talktime or 350 hoursstandby on a single charge. Optimumtimes for talk and standby are onlyachieved when the handset batteriesare fully charged.
Note
It is recommended that you do notconnect the telephone line cord to thephone socket until your handset isfully charged. This will prevent therisk of the batteries dischargingduring a conversation, which couldcause you to lose a call.

How many telephones can you have?
All items of telephone equipment havea Ringer Equivalence Number (REN),which is used to calculate the numberof items which may be connected toany one telephone line. Your Synergy3500 has a REN of 1. A total REN of 4is allowed, if the total REN of 4 isexceeded, the telephones may not ring.
With different telephone types thereis no guarantee of ringing, even whenthe REN is less than 4.
Only use approved power supply, itemcode 005391 for base station or 003313for charger (only applicable if you havepurchased the Synergy 3500 Twin).
Use only approved (Ni-MH)rechargeable batteries.
You may need to enter an access code(e.g. 9) in order to get an outside line.So that the switchboard has time to pickup an outside line, you may also needto add a Pause after the access code.
