    Whats Next?

    The consultation period runs for 12 weeks from 3rd September 2008. Atthe conclusion there will be a number of different options circulated forconsideration. This will take place in late December, upon receipt offeedback on those options a final decision will be taken on the wayforward. All decisions on the future outlook of the BSP will be taken bythe key stakeholders engaged with the partnership and will includerepresentatives from across all sectors.

    Principles of Representation

    Whatever the final outlook, we have

    adopted the Principles ofRepresentation which will under-pinour relationships with all sectors.These are:Accountability clearly definedresponsibilities for all decisions andactions.Equality place equality, diversity andinclusiveness at the core of what wedo.Leadership the sectorsrepresentatives will need to think and

    act strategically.Openness be as open as possible inall your dealings and relationships.Purpose be clear about the localsectors objectives and support themwith a strong evidence base.Sustainability ensuring thecontinuation of the collective voice.Values identify and build on thevalues of the local sectors

    Welcome to the first edition of the BSP Review Newsletter! The purpose

    of the newsletter is to keep you fully informed on the:

    Progress of the review Outcome of the consultation events and Give you the opportunity to comment on the emerging

    arrangements for the new-look Blackpool Strategic Partnership.

    Consultation Events

    To date there have been four

    Consultation Events giving usthe opportunity to engage withover 100 people from acrossall sectors. The events havebeen held at four venuesduring the day and eveninggiving everyone an opportunityto participate. These havebeen very positive events witha real sense of openness andcommitment to improving thefuture outlook of the Blackpool

    Strategic Partnership. Theevents have focussed on thenew structure, terms ofreference and governancearrangements. A sharedvision has emerged across allstakeholders about the futurelook of the BSP and this willform a sound basis fordeveloping the new structure.
