Visitor InformationWelcome to No.1 Royal Crescent, a majestic Grade 1 listed town house built in John Wood the Younger’s masterpiece of Palladian design. The magnificent town-house, now a museum, creates a wonderfully vivid picture of fashionable life in C18th Bath. Each room is an exquisite example of Georgian interior design with authentic furniture, paintings, objects and textiles. From the elegance of the drawing and dining rooms, the bedrooms and parlour, to the warren of servants’ corridors, kitchen, scullery and housekeeper’s room, the house has many intriguing stories to tell and presents a picture of life in Georgian Bath both above and below stairs.
The visit takes on average one hour and we have recommended in this guide two routes, one ‘step-free’, for you to maximise your time and enjoyment during your visit.
Please be advised that as this is an historic house, floors are not always level and the rise of the stairs is not always even. The floors in the basement and courtyard are flagstones.
