To get an application form, interested parties either write-in or email to Halal Food Control

Division

2. Halal Food Control Division

The Halal Food Control Division in MORA will check the received application forms for completion of information and documents

3. Halal Certificate and Halal Label Inspection Committee

A desk-audit will be performed by the Inspection Committee

(consisting of MORA, MIPR and MOH) which meets once a week

4. Chief Inspector and Food Auditors conduct inspection

If approved, the Chief Auditor and his staff conduct on-site inspection at the applicant’s

premise (e.g. abattoir, factory)MOH) which meets once a week

If not approved, applicant will be notified via fax

The audit team will prepare a report to submit to the Inspection

Committee, which in turn will submit to the Religious Council

5. Inspection Committee submits report to the Religious Council

If not approved, applicant will be notified via fax

6. Decision of Religious Council after

consideration of report

7. Applicant makes payment for Halal permit

& certificate

If approved, the applicant will be asked to make payment to the Religious Council – B$50 for each Halal permit (i.e. for each food product) and B$30

for a certificate.

8. Halal permit and certificate issued

The Halal permit and certificate will be issued by MORA and posted via

registered mail to the applicant. The applicant does not need to

renew the permit but will need to renew the certificate.
