249 words about sustainability and future perspectives, two

terms often overworked these days. Here they have taken on

a meaning, are comprehensible and lived. In a vision with a

solid base – the EXPO PARK Hanover.

In a high-quality technology park with first-class infra-

structure directly adjacent to the Deutsche Messe

exhibition centre. A place for your business that is

incomparable, unique and unmistakable – one of the most

attractive locations in Germany, at the very heart of Europe.

Millions of people from across the globe visited us and

Hanover for the EXPO2000 World’s Fair. They enjoyed our

hospitality and with their cultural diversity left a lasting

impression, changing our lives and those of the people in the

region.

Now we’re inviting you again. This time, we hope, you’ll stay

much longer – perhaps for ever. That’s what we’ve been

working on over recent years; that’s what we’ve been

preparing for. With a clear concept of exploiting and developing

the existing structures, the architectural highlights and the

superb landscaping. We’ve prepared urban planning and

architectural ideas for you, created an excellent framework

and facilitated the start for the first investors and tenants.

You will find an excellent academic and training environment,

service providers and companies in the information and

communication sector, administrative organizations, consul-

tants, banks; organizations that are there for you, and of

course we from EXPO GRUND with our service offering and a

network of people to support us – and not least: the people

in our region with their warm welcome.

Walter Richter,

Managing Director, EXPO GRUND GmbH, Hanover

Future

This is where the future is being created – building on a

splendid past: The 2000 World’s Fair. At the EXPO PARK. Some

eighty-five percent of the total 650,000 m2 are built on, most of

the national pavilions – architectural highlights – are meanwhile

in use again, are filled with life.

For the remaining 87,000 m2, urban planners and architects

have developed ideas for you, thought about visions for the

future. Not a simple task to do justice to the existing ensemble,

preserve the landscaping, create something economically

rational yet architecturally sophisticated. To create the ideal

conditions for your business success, for more creativity, for

new ideas. The EXPO PARK is a worthy example of sustainability

and perspectives for the future. For the people in our region and

the millions of visitors.

This location is something quite special, offering opportuni-

ties, but also demanding courage: The courage to go down

new paths, to cross boundaries, formulate aspirations.

Aspirations of a vision worth living, aspirations of partner-

ships, of people who think like we do. With the capability

to deal creatively with the opportunities the location offers.

Welcome to the future, you are already expected.

Neighbours5,128 neighbours: that means some 36,000 hours of productivity and creativity – every day

– in the EXPO PARK. This is where ideas are forged, products developed, where

people learn and are taught, music produced, television broadcast and lots more.

Established companies, agile start-ups and students from across the world. Neighbours like

the CampMedia ICT StartUp Center, Hanover Impuls GmbH (regional development agency for

the city and region), nordmedia GmbH (film industry support office of the State of Lower

Saxony), The University Faculty of IT, Design and Media, the Peppermint Park recording

studios, CISCO Learning Lab Lower Saxony or the TV Travel Shop. A certainly lively environ-

ment for all high-tech companies, for the information and communication industry.

But 5,128 neighbours also means you can link up with all kinds of contacts here.

Colleagues from the same or a similar industry, students, future employees perhaps,

service providers to support you in your work or simply fascinating people for good

conversation. Meet up at one of the cafés or at one of the many events around the

Plaza and the former event pavilions.

A direct neighbour to the EXPO PARK, with over 2.5 million guests every year, is the

Deutsche Messe. With lead trade fairs as important as CeBIT and the International Hanover

Fair. Right next door to exhibitors and visitors from across the world – unique in Europe.

Become a neighbour.

695,112,000 people live in Europe. Of whom almost four million right in the centre, in the

Hanover economic region. And, like all such regions, the threads come together here. Or the

other way around: from here you can reach all other Europeans in a relatively short time. By

air, all main metropolitan regions in little more that ninety minutes, and in somewhat more

than two hours 40 million people in Europe. Berlin, as Germany’s capital city, by car or train

in a good ninety minutes.

With its many air links, Hanover Airport, the only night-time airport in Northern Germany,

guarantees fast travel and sales channels. The Hanover autobahn intersection is the crossing

point of the trunk routes on the North-South axis from Scandinavia to Italy and on the West-

East axis from Amsterdam or Paris, via Berlin and Warsaw, as far as Moscow. Hanover is the

hub for the express trains of Deutsche Bahn and the most quickly accessible conurbation in

Germany.

Love of life

16,500 cm2 of nylon or polyester coupled with wind force five or six can mean pure joy.

Whether surfing, sailing, golf, tennis, biking, football, riding – whether action or

passion – you’ll find it all in our region. And if you prefer to savour with your eyes and

ears, you’ll find what you need here too: from Beethoven to blues, jazz, rock or pop,

ancient or modern art, cabaret, opera or musicals.

Interested in architecture? Our region is richly blessed. Let’s start at the EXPO PARK

site. Architects from many countries around the world have left their mark here. And

then Hanover, with its art nouveau villas, mansions, old and new townhouses and

fascinating architecture in the public sector. From pre-Christian grave sites and Roman

abbeys in the neighbourhood to the futuristic automotive city of Wolfsburg, home of

Volkswagen.

At the heart of some of the most beautiful landscapes Germany has to offer, with

diversity that is hardly to be beaten. From the Lüneburger Heide to the Harz Mountains.

For hiking or biking, for a vacation or a weekend break.

And once body and mind are taken care of, you can simply relax a little and enjoy life.

From romantic street cafés to gourmet restaurants, from regional cuisine to African and

Cypriot, discover the gastronomic diversity of our region.

You see: Hanover is a region to fall in love with. In every way.

10Good Reasons

The EXPO PARK is an address well known around the world: the site of the first and only

World’s Fair held in Germany. An address in the focus of national and international media and

creating attention – certainly for your company too. If we were to list all the key benefits that

EXPO PARK offers, we would actually need to make sure the list doesn’t get too long.

10 good reasons will do to start with: 1. A clear location profile / 2. Its situation at the heart

of Europe / 3. The immediate vicinity of the world’s largest exhibition centre / 4. A truly

outstanding infrastructure / 5. The unique ambience and high-quality garden landscape /

6. Excellent transport links to the city, airport and national transport networks /

7. Interesting neighbours in the research, development, IT and media sectors / 8. The city of

Hanover and the region with its high quality of life / 9. An absolutely first-class network of

partners and support organizations / and 10. the comprehensive service we offer from one

source.

The EXPO PARK is our premium location and comes with a quality guarantee. That will remain

so in the future, no shortcuts. Quality is and remains the key for this location. And only those

that fit in with us can become neighbours. And that’s a promise.

We are certain – this is the best place for your company

event, we will do more for you than you perhaps expect.

Beyond our partners and support organizations such as the “Wirtschaftsförderung”

economic development agency, Hannover Impuls and many more besides, we are

integrated in a network of premium partners supporting us in our activities.

Together with our partners at the Airport Business Park and the Medical Park –

growth sectors that demonstrate the benefits of Hanover as a location – we can put

incomparable potential at your disposal.

One example: You want to buy a plot of land and get extensive information about

the EXPO PARK? We’ll be happy to invite you. Want to take the opportunity to meet

other counterparts? Tell us who. Architects, builders, representatives of the city,

financing experts from a bank – experts and specialists of all kinds. We will set up

the contacts you want and bring you all to one table so that you use your time as

effectively as possible.

More than just service – Benefits that only an exceptional location like this former

World’s Fair site can offer you. A location still in the focus of the nation and its

initiators. The companies currently locating here are the proof.
