Congratulations to our
RBES Broncos who rode in
the Bulverde Jubilee Parade
on Saturday, September
14th. Our RBES students
won the Best School Spirit
Award! A big thanks to all
the students, parents, and
RBES will be hosting a Pizza
Night on October 8th at 6:00
PM in the cafeteria. Superin-
tendent Andrew Kim will be
here to speak about the up-
coming November 5th Bond
Election.
Parents will also have the chance
to learn about the new GRIT
character education program
that Comal ISD is implementing
this year.
Our October 8th event will also
kickoff our WatchD.O.G.S. Pro-
gram for the 3rd year! All dads
or dad figures are welcome to
attend to learn about the pro-
gram, sign up for volunteer dates,
and buy their WatchD.O.G.S. t-
shirts.

Together
Character trait education is about instilling a
work ethic, learning from failures, developing
leaders, problem solving, having compassion
and giving to others. The students will be
awarded spirit sticks for practicing these
moral traits: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsman-
ship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility,
Perseverance, Courtesy, & Judgement
Enrich your student’s vocabulary by using
these traits at home so we can make charac-
ter education part of their daily life!!!

offer these meetings at various sites
of the school district and host top-
ics that are related to maintaining
healthy lifestyles.

Crockpot Chicken
Enchilada Stew

2 lbs chicken breasts
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 -4oz can of chopped jalepe-
nos
1 –4oz can of chopped green
chiles
2 T coconut oil
1 –14oz can of diced tomatoes
1 –7oz can tomato sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 T cumin
1 T chili powder
2 t dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: Items to garnish—
cilantro, avocado, etc
Optional: Whole wheat tortil-
las
Add the chicken to your crockpot.
Throw in the rest of your ingredi-
ents (except optional items) on top
of the chicken.
Cook on low 8-10 hours or high 6-
8 hours
When it’s done cooking, use two
forks to shred the chicken. Top
with optional garnish. This recipe
can be eaten as stew or made into
delicious shredded chicken tacos!
Try these healthy recipes for your
family this month!
Breakfast Cookies
(glutten, soy and sugar free)
1 cup of almond butter
1 egg
1/4 cup of honey or pure ma-
ple syrup
2 1/2 to 3 cups of mix-ins of
your choice (raisins, coconut,
flax seeds, etc.)
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
Mix all ingredients well, and drop
by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
Flatten each cookie slightly and
bake for 13 minutes at 350°.
(Because of the stickiness of the
almond butter, it is recommended
to use parchment paper on top of
your cookie sheet)

gram will begin the 1st week of
October and deadlines for en-
try will be the last week of Oc-
tober.

lenge: This activity

ing skills and team-
building experi-
ences. Working in
groups of 2 or 3, stu-
dents were given 20
sticks of spaghetti, a
yard of masking tape,
a yard of string and
a marshmallow.
What was the the
challenge you may
be wandering? To
build the tallest,
freestanding, struc-
ture possible that
held the marshmal-
low on the top -- in
about 20 minutes.

Morph/Writing
