In April, 2009, Mr. Brockman was back in Lees Summit to be inducted into the LSHS Hall of Fame. Below right,

Ed Heinlein is presenting Mr. B a framed proclamation of Honorary Membership in the LSHS Class of 1957.Holding the microphone is Mr. Brockmans son Jim.

When we received the news of Mr. Brockmans passing I forwarded it to myHi-Life II email list, as well

as posting it on our Facebook LSHS Grads from the 50s & 60s Group, and received many replies

which I forwarded to his son, Jim. It was so amazing to read all these remarks and realize the influence

he had on so many young lives. He truly was a great man and concerned educator.

After the funeral, I received this from Little Jim

    Hi Marilyn,

The funeral yesterday was very nice and uplifting. I will send you a bulletin and hopefully you can send it out toeveryone. There were over 150 people at the funeral which I thought was pretty good since he was 96 and the funeralwas not in Lee's Summit. My dad had picked out the songs he wanted sung and the scripture he wanted read. He wasready to be with my mom. I really felt strong yesterday, but I must admit that today I have an empty feeling knowing heis gone. Tell everyone thanks for all of the letters, E-mails etc. that has been sent. I was really amazed at how Facebookworked. A lot of the letters, etc., were read at the funeral.

    Thanks for everything,Jim

Some of you may have heard me tell this story before, but I think of it every time I think of Mr. B

At one point of our lives, we lived in a small town in south Missouri. Carl was Chief of Security for a leadmine there. One of his security officers was elected Police Chief and asked Carl if he would serve as their

Municipal Judge. He had to attend training in Jefferson City to become certified as a non-lawyer

Municipal Judge, which he did. His comment to me when he came back home was, Mr. Brockman

always thought Id end up in court, but I think he expected it to be on the other side of the bench!

Following is the bulletin of the funeral that was mentioned above. Sorry the music sheets had to be put in

sideways, but that was the best way to fit them in.
