PAULOWNIAPaulownia, a native of China, is the fastest growing tree in the world, offering the easiesthardwood, very strong but aesthetically, which is used to make musical instruments,furniture, luxury yachts and planes lighter.

In Japan it is called KIRI and the emblem of the Government and the Prime Minister.

Paulownia is considered "aluminium wood" (with 33% by weight and 50% by weight of oakpine) is a tree with broad crown and thick stems with large leaves and flowers clustered in

inflorescences large purple or white fragrant. Spectacular blooms in April and May, isdrought resistant and has a long life up to 80 years.

Following the specially created 45 parallel hybrids, Romania has recently attractedincreased interest in the establishment of plantations and for decorative and ornamentaluse in gardens and parks.

Paulownia can adapt to any soil, with a very intense pace of growth in the first years of lifegrows 4-5 feet / year and the commercial value of wood is similar to the wood of walnut, butdue to rapid growth, reaches maturity 6-7 years and can be realized more quickly.

The wood dries very quickly (30-60 days), without sag and the oven drying takes only 30-60hours. Paulownia leaves are large, 50-60 cm in diameter and are a green manure beingused as animal feed.

It is a very good absorber of urban noise and very good support while dust and pollution. Itregenerates rapidly from underground rhizomes and sets very well ground, therefore it isrecommended planting in areas with landslides.

Its flowers are very popular with bees and can even produce more honey than with acacia.

Some studies have also concluded that anti mosquito, mosquitoes removing an area equalto the diameter of its crown.

WOOD PROPERTIES

One of the most versatile existing woody species, Paulownia has gained tremendous

popularity in the West where cultivation is booming, especially for furniture, plywood and

biomass.

Paulownia is resistant to twisting (as increases), is resistant to shrinkage (not split) and

generally resistant to deformation. Wood has a nice, clean and smooth, without knots.

Its properties make fine-grained tree Paulownia wood exceptionally suited for bars, pallets,

household furniture and plywood, prefabricated, construction elements and internal panels.

Paulownia is also grown as a sustainable source of bio-fuel, a crucial step towards solving

the global energy crisis. The tree naturally regenerates from existing root systems, earning

the nickname merit phoenix tree. This means you can harvest between minimum 3 and

maximum 5 rotations growth wood without the need for replanting. Its leaves are a fast

growing and have a huge capacity to absorb carbon dioxide.

BUSINESS PLAN

How much land do I need a Paulownia plantation?

For a good profitability is recommended to start business with at least 1 ha of land.

Profitability increases as land area is larger!

How many plants are required for 1 hectare of land?

We recommend planting 4 x 4 m meaning 600 trees/ha.

An alternative is planting a 4 x 3 grid in which between 800 trees/ha.

What is the cost for 1 ha of Paulownia plantation?

Plant cuttings obtained from 4 weeks of age, the recommended planting time during March-

June, it cost about 6 euro/pcs. Price varies depending on quantity ordered. We conclude

that for 1 ha of land planted with Paulownia investment required is only 3,600 euro.

When can you start cutting?

Paulownia culture seedlings will lead to an increase in canopy and perfectly straight without

at least 4-5 m which will increase timber production type A. Cutting operation can begin

after 3 - 4 years with maximum productivity.

How much I can earn?

For each Paulownia tree can get at least 100 euro / pcs.After the first cutting the tree

will re-grow at a faster rate and without any investment, the tree regenerates itself from the

old root.

How do I order?

Paulownia tree must be ordered at least with 2-3 months before the desired planting time,

because it takes 8 weeks for early stages of growth that are made in specially designedgreen- houses. Within 2 weeks is required for product delivery depending on where you will

be planting (egg. hills, plains, mountains). To make the delivery time a contract is required a

deposit type and 30% of the total order.

THE TERRAIN CONDITIONS, PLANTING

To prepare the ground for planting must be made good plowing at least 30 cm, a disking,

and have harrowing the soil shredding.

If using drill planting plowing land is no longer needed. The soil should not be overly click (if

planted in soil also should avoid massaging the soil around the plant avoiding the formation

of plasticizer type as suffocating plant).

Groundwater level must be less than 2 feet deep and up to 6 m is not rock. It's good to be

well worked ground and remove all weeds before planting (over an area of at least 1m /

plant). In mountainous areas where there is no possibility of entry of machinery for plowing,

digging is done manually, at least 40 inches deep, within a radius of 60 cm from the centreof the circle (plant).

The soil should be well moistened necessarily. The best time for planting is spring and

summer. Planting, it is important to be done by qualified personnel in this field. It is

recommended to apply 1 m nylon sheets to protect the plant (hold moisture). This film is

recommended especially in drier areas to maintain humidity and stagnant water from

rainfall.

Do not use unauthorized herbicides for this plant! Plantations can be fenced with electric

pastor to avoid incoming animals (cows, goats, sheep, etc.) After one year of plantationland in trees can be used for pasture, vegetables, etc.

The calorific value is 3680 kilocalorie, 2 kg of paulownia = 1 l diesel

The planting should be watered abundantly; it takes 2,000 litters of water/ha is

recommended to use a dark foil to suppress the water. If it does not rain and drought soak

of 7 in 7 days maximum of 3 times to catch and begin to grow. Trapping rate is 100% if it is

wet and if it was planted correctly.
