We are pleased to invite you to an unique event organised by EFQM

and SRAC in Sinaia, Romania, on 17th of September 2014, with the sup-

port of the Hungarian Association for Excellence and Grundfos Romania.

Participation will allow you to learn how EFQM Excellence Model sup-

ports the development of organisations to boost their potential and

guarantee outstanding results. It will be our pleasure to meet you there.

- Gianluca Mule, EFQM Senior Manager, Partners & Training

'We are committed to helping organisations drive performance improve-ment through the EFQM Excellence Model, a comprehensive management framework used by over 30,000 organisations in Europe. To help you implement our Model, we provide training and assessment tools as well as recognition for all levels of maturity. But our real talent comes from gathering good practices and sharing them through our network. We at EFQM, a not-for-profit membership Foundation founded in 1989, aim to share what works, through case studies, online webinars, working groups, conferences and thematic events. Sharing our members' enthusiasm, their motivation and the results they achieve; that is what we work for.”

EFQM Excellence Model, a non-prescriptive framework that can be used to

gain an holistic view of any organisation regardless of size, sector or

maturity. Over the past 20 years, the EFQM Excellence Model has been a

blueprint for EFQM members and organisations across and beyond Europe

to develop a culture of excellence, access good practices, drive innovation

and improve their results.

EFQM is actively helping to prepare a new generation of business leaders

by offering trainings and development opportunities built on

practice-based learning and exchange between organisations. Our

exchanges are underpinned by shared tools for assessment, calibrated

during two decades of use within organisations and as the basis for

discerning the recipients of the EFQM Excellence Award, Europe's most

prestigious award for organisations.

To achieve sustained success, any organisation needs strong leadership and clear strategic direction. They need to develop and improve their people, partnerships and processes to deliver value-adding products and services to their customers.

The EFQM Excellence Model allows people to understand the cause and effect relationships between what their organisation does (the Enablers) and the Results it achieves.

The Model is non-prescriptive and can be applied to any organisation, regardless of size,

sector or maturity.

“The EFQM Model has changed our way of working and communicating in a very signifi-cant manner. It was a catalyst for driving change and business improvement in order to achieve a balanced stakeholder satisfaction.” - Enrico Tosco, HRO Director, Telecom Italia

Any organisation can be recognised through an assessment based on the EFQM Excellence Model. Recognition schemes are all about celebrating achievement and creating enthusiasm for progress. EFQM assessment is a great way to motivate your people and encourage systematic improvement.

“Through the EFQM assessment we receive objective, valuable and helpful suggestions about our strengths and – even more important – potentials. We use it in the strategy and

target process to decide about ‘doing the right things’.” - Dr. Andreas Wendt, General Director, BMW Plant Regensburg

“The recognition of our excellence-level by EFQM is a proof for our customers of having one

of the best European companies as a partner for highly complex services in the sensitive

field of healthcare.” - Otto Müller, Managing Director, VAMED

Karolina Sugar, president of The Hungarian Association for Excel-lence (HAE). Our organisation was elected as an EFQM National Part-ner Organisation in 2003. The Association's first major activity was organizing the EFQM FORUM 2006, Budapest, in which nearly 900 guests attended.

Since 2006 the Association regularly organizes 1 or 3 years Excellence programs for different groups. These programs provide opportunity for self-assessment and implementation of improvements; further-more the additional key elements of these programmes are the mutual learning opportunities and ex-change good practices. In 2010 we have launched our new excellence programme ‘Committed to CSR Ex-cellence’. 14 organisations joined to this programme. It was launched also in 2010 the’ Supplier Excel-lence Program’, which was developed in cooperation with Grundfos Manufacturing Hungary. In this pro-gramme the participant suppliers should prepare a self-assessment every year, and have to complete three improvement projects. 11 suppliers joined the program, at the end of the first year the suppliers achieved C2E, the next two years they achieved R4E 3*with many supports from Grundfos and HAE too.

Alina Gheorghe is Grundfos country manager (Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary). is a world leading pump manufacture, and is representing 19,000 employees in 80 companies in more than 60 countries around the world.

Grundfos Excellence is the outcome of 20 years work with Excellence in Grundfos, and it is built upon the Business Excellence philosophy and the EFQM model. It is the holistic reference framework that works as the excellence umbrella under which all our excellence approaches fit. It provides a common business language, business understanding and structure that enable us to share good practice in our assessments and have a continuous improvement culture in our everyday.

“PhD. eng. Dan Stoichitoiu is the President of The Romanian Society of Quality As-surance. The Romanian Society for Quality Assurance is a professional association, not-for-profit and independent NGO. According to its Status, the association is aimed to promote the quality culture in Romania by awareness, information, standardiza-tion and testing activities.”

Romanian Society for Quality Assurance established in 1993 (known as SRAC) quickly became one of the pillars of quality infrastructure in Romania.”

The Romanian Society for Quality Assurance, professional association, not-for-profit, is quality culture promoter in Romania .

Established in 1993, it started in 1995 to publish the specialized magazine „Quality Assurance”, edited quarterly, and since 1998 it began to publish the monthly magazine „Quality – access to success”, maga-zines that are still published nowadays.

In 1996 it launched the initiative of granting the prize Joseph Juran for Quality, that was materialized in 1999 by the establishment of the „J.M. Juran – Romanian Quality Award Foundation”, where SRAC is founding member together with the main actors, professional organizations from the field. „J.M. Juran – Romanian Quality Award Foundation” has as the main objective the promotion of business excellence in the Romanian organizations as a tool for continuous improvement. The first edition of the Romanian Quality Award „J.M.Juran” took place in 2000 and it was financed by the European Union through Phare Program TTQM (Technology Transfer and Quality Management).

The „J.M. Juran – Romanian Quality Award Foundation” Model for Business Excellence has nine criteria that assess the road the organization shall cover towards performance. These criteria are similar with the ones of the EFQM Model (European Foundation for Quality Management) that represent the base of the European Quality Award. Unfortunately, after 5 editions, the Foundation ceased its activity.

SRAC that organizes the most long-lasting International Conference of Quality, Reliability and Dependa-bility, reaching this year the 14th edition, decided to help the organizations for the improvement of their performances through EFQM Excellence Model. This year, SRAC and EFQM organize together within this Conference the „EFQM Open Day in Romania”.

We hope this shall be a guide mark for the organizations and their leaders, offering a an exchange of in-sights between organizations that will guide them towards EFQM Excellence Award, Europe’s most pres-tigious award for organizations.

I would like to thank to EFQM Management and especially to Mr. Gianluca Mule, EFQM Senior Manager, Partners & Training for all the support given for the organization of this event and their partners, Karoli-na Sugar, President of The Hungarian Association for Excellence (HAE) and Alina Gheorghe, Grundofs Country Manager (Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary).

I hope this event shall be beneficial for our Association also and that it shall identify the future collabo-ration channels with EFQM, beneficial for the Romanian organizations too.
