The new Outlander is equipped with a myriad of safety features to protect both the driver and passengers in a collision including seven airbags as standard:• side airbags to protect occupants against thorax injuries• curtain airbags for protection from side collision• driver and front passenger SRS airbags and a driver knee

airbag for protection in the event of head on collision.Furthermore, Outlander’s protection of occupants has been dramatically heightened thanks to Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), a technology that detects potential accidents and activates mitigation measures and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) which works to maintain specified speed and distance between you and the vehicle ahead. Available in Aspire.

RISE Body

Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) is a combination of a front body that absorbs impact and a high-rigidity cabin structure. This super strength cabin cocoons you and your passengers with outstanding protection in the event of an accident.

Hill Start Control (HSC)This technology makes it easier to start off up steep city streets by preventing the vehicle from rolling backwards. It maintains the braking force for two seconds giving you time to move your foot from the brake to the accelerator.

HSC

Active Traction Control (ATC)ATC helps maintain traction on slippery surfaces. When sensing loss of traction in an independent wheel, ATC applies braking force to that wheel and sends extra power and torque to other wheels that have traction to keep you moving and in control.

ATC

Active Stability Control (ASC)ASC maintains stability and control when cornering by automatically recognising understeer and oversteer. It applies brakes to the appropriate wheels to keep you online, and in control through corners.

ASC

Anti Lock Braking System (ABS)Outlander is ready to perform if you’re faced with the unexpected. ABS helps the driver maintain steering control and avoid hazards by adjusting the braking pressure to prevent the wheels from locking up under hard braking or during an emergency stop.

As soon as you sit in the new Mitsubishi Outlander you can see and feel the outstanding quality and comfort. But this SUV has also been designed to offer exceptional practical functionality. To maximise potential cargo space, both the second row seats and third row seats (in 7 seat models) can be flexibly arranged. In the 4WD LS and Aspire models, the second row seats can be easily moved forward for access to third row seating. Owners of the Aspire can also open and close the tailgate from the driver’s seat simply by using a switch.

ECO Drive Support SystemForward Collision Mitigation (FCM) – available on Aspire

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – available on Aspire

When no vehicle is in front

The specified speed is maintained even if the driver does not step on accelerator

When a vehicle exists in front

Vehicle-following driving is performed to maintain the specified distance between vehicles.

The new Outlander delivers outstanding comfort, space, and 7 seat versatility. And it’s our safest car yet.

One Touch Start System Dusk Sensing Headlights

Aspire model shown

There’s an Outlander just for you: • 2WD ES and LS with 2.0L MIVEC petrol engine • 4WD ES, LS and Aspire with 2.4L MIVEC petrol engine • 4WD LS and Aspire with 2.2L intercooled turbo

diesel engine.

Mitsubishi's Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) petrol engine achieves unprecedented fuel economy with low emissions. The ECO Drive Support System encourages economic driving through simple driver interaction. The driver selectable ECO Mode will provide energy saving control for the engine, the 4 wheel drive system and even the air conditioning.

Outlander offers so much technology at your fingertips – standard features include cruise control, climate control

air conditioning and Bluetooth® hands-free on your steering wheel controls, with the option of voice command.

Smart Key is just that – complete keyless operation. Outlander Aspire recognises the key within a 70cm radius, so you can lock and unlock the doors, open the tailgate and even start the engine with the touch of a button, all the while with the smart key safely tucked in your pocket or bag.

Outlander LS and Aspire feature rain-sensing wipers that automatically detect moisture on the windscreen, activating the wipers at a speed appropriate to the amount of rain falling. Sensors will automatically switch on the headlights in fading light or when travelling

through a tunnel. The less distraction on the road ahead, the better.

Electronic Control 4-Wheel Drive.

The 4WD system of the new Outlander senses the driver’s intentions and conveys that through all four wheels. It’s like a nerve network that connects the vehicle body and other systems to maximize your control. Three driving modes allow you to balance fuel economy and driving performance.

4WD ECO – Fuel efficient mode

Driving in 2WD allocates torque to the front wheels. The car quickly detects when road conditions are slippery and helps recover stable driving conditions

by automatically engaging 4WD and allocating torque to the rear wheels as well.

4WD AUTO – Normal mode

This delivers appropriate 4WD capability for a variety of road conditions like dry asphalt roads, wet roads and roads with snow cover. As well as heightening drive power in slippery conditions, the system makes turning easier.

4WD LOCK – High ground covering ability

This mode excels when driving on bad roads and in difficult situations when the vehicle becomes bogged. On normal roads it provides increased traction for all 4-wheels from low speeds to high speeds.
