METRO Cash & Carry anticipates 30% reduction in printing costs

METRO Cash & Carry had been a customer of HP for some years, using HP desktops, laptops and servers. It was through this relationship that when budget became available to renew most of its printing fleet, the company approached HP for advice on how to gain the maximum benefit from its investment.

Meanwhile, EU legislation changed, which allowed businesses to replace the old system of multi-copy invoices printed on dot matrix printers with a better, more economical printing solution. METRO Cash & Carry agreed that the best approach was to combine HP equipment with an HP Managed Print Services (MPS) solution, providing the integration required to give it the control over its printer fleet that it sought. In a phased approach, the company began by replacing its dot matrix check out printers with new HP LaserJet models.
