Summary

This course enables participants to become Certified ISO 31000 Risk Managers. The training and examination is based on the ISO 31000 Risk Management Standard which can be used by private and public organizations of any size, industry, or sector.

In an intensive two-day course participants develop competence in the Foundation of the ISO 31000 Risk Management Standard.

Based on in-depth training, practical exercises and regular multiple-choice questions that test aptitude, participants acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to pass the stringent examination. Attendees become familiar with the vocabulary, principles, framework and Risk Management process proposed in the ISO 31000 Standard and can apply this knowledge in a critical review of Risk Management programs.

During the course, we will present the general ISO 31000 Risk Management Standard and its two companions, the ISO Guide 73:2009, Risk Management - Vocabulary, and ISO/IEC 31010:2009, Risk Management - Risk Assessment Techniques.

■ To understand the fundamental concepts, vocabulary,principles, framework and Risk Management process inaccordance with ISO 31000.

■ To understand the benefits of ISO 31000 as an internationallyrecognized standard adopted by more than 40 countries.

Day 1: Introduction to Risk Management concepts as defined by ISO

■ Understand the Risk Management vocabulary as defined by ISO 31000■ Understand the benefits of Risk Management to an organization■ Understand the ISO 31000 Risk Management principles and how these influence

the Risk Management framework and process■ A test and revision on the elements learned during the day

Day 2: The Risk Management framework and process according to ISO 31000

■ Understand the Risk Management framework■ Detailed presentation of the Risk Management process■ Risk identification, risk analysis, risk evaluation and risk treatment■ Risk assessment tools recommended in ISO/IEC 31010■ Risk communication■ Risk monitoring and review■ A test and revision on the elements learned during the day

Day 3: Certification Exam and Workshop

■ Examination on Risk Management in compliance with ISO 31000■ Practical workshop on implementing ISO 31000 in your organization

Haydée's competencies are strategic and visionary services tailored to the business continuity and risk management needs of her customers. She provides technical, specialized solutions to organizations and executives relating to several ISO certifications including Business Continuity, either as an auditor or implementer, Risk Management and Quality Management.

Prior to establishing her own engineering and consulting firm, Haydée managed the Casualty Engineering Risk Management Service Division for a major multi-national insurance company in Latin America.

Certification

Candidates can obtain a certificate issued by the independent certification body PECB (Professional Evaluation and Certification Board), accredited by ANSI/ASSE under ISO/IEC 17024.

A certificate of Certified ISO 31000 Risk Manager will be issued to participants who successfully pass the certification exam on day three of this course and comply with all PECB requirements.
