Scholarships are available. At Camp Hope, children play and talk together about their losses, share emotions with others, and recognize that grief is a natural response to los- ing a loved one. Together they learn to help each other with their grief and ways to help themselves. Children enjoy fun activities with chil- dren in their age group. Activities in- clude: A memorial activity to remember loved ones Arts and Crafts Music Therapy Horseback Riding Games and sports Paddle-boating Much more! At Camp Hope, children play and talk

Camp Objectives

SHARING

To provide children with an opportunity to meet in a safe and accepting environment and to share their experiences with other children who have lost a

loved one.

UNDERSTANDING

To increase the child’s understanding of grief and the

journey through mourning.

EXPRESSION

To provide information on grief in order to facilitate a better understanding and expression of their feel-

ings.

MEMORIES

To enable children to merge their feelings with mem-

ories of their loved ones.

AWARENESS

To increase the child’s awareness of available sup-

port systems.

HOPE

To instill feelings of hope and life for the future with-

in children who have experienced a loss.

Hospice of South Georgia, Inc.

provides a bereavement camp

for children that will promote

journeying through the grief pro-

cess. The camp is offered to

children ages 5 to 17 that have

experienced the death of a loved

one. Camp Hope helps children

find healing by offering an envi-

ronment that allows a safe and

comfortable expression of their

feelings and loss.
