ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL www.sunglasshut.com LENS QUICK REFERENCE GRAY is considered the all-purpose lens color because it enables the wearer to see “natural” colors and is very soothing to the eye. It is the best lens color for bright light situations, too. Plus, the gray lens doesn’t mess with the wearer’s depth perception. BROWN is also a great all-purpose lens. They are attractive, warm, and inviting, they really know how to enhance skin tones. When looking through a brown lens, colors like reds, yellows, and greens are accentuated, but not exaggerated. There are many lens colors that belong to the “brown” lens family, including amber and bronze. They, too, are attractive and provide enhanced color perception. GREEN lenses are also a great all-purpose lens. They filter out some blue light and stand up to glare pretty well. ROSE-colored lenses are great for outdoor activities, especially high-speed activities. Skiers love them. Although they can distort colors, they provide high contrast in hazy conditions. POLARIZED LENSES Polarized Lenses are the best at blocking glare. They actually filter out horizontal glare while allowing vertical light through. MIRROR TREATMENT A thin metallic treatment (silver dioxide) is applied to a sunglass lens to create the mirrored look. It assists in reflecting annoying glare and is ideal for intense sunlight and glare. ANTI-REFLECTION TREATMENTS Anti-reflection treatments reduce reflections from lens surfaces by absorbing the light. On the back of the lens, they prevent sunlight from coming in from behind and reflecting into the eyes. Anti-reflection treatments are most useful for water and snow activities. HYDROPHOBIC COATINGS These coatings are designed to protect your lenses from water or snow and reduce water spots. Rain and sweat will bead up and roll off the lenses. This coating is great for skiing, sand volleyball, or any other water sport. OLEOPHOBIC COATINGS These coatings are resistant to oils (for example, from the body), fingerprints, and smudges.
