WhoWeAreCo‐founder Dr. Mark Lachs, MD, is Co‐chief of Geriatrics at NY Presbyterian Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.  An expert in the care of older people, he brings 30 

years of clinical experience to Compass Care. In addi on, Dr. Lachs has conducted mul ple research studies and published extensively in the field of aging.  He has taught thousands of nurses, medical students, and physicians the fundamentals of geriatric medicine. Dr. Lachs is the author of the best selling book “Treat Me, Not My Age” and is a highly sought a er speaker. 

Dr. Karl Pillemer, PhD, Director of our Home Care Ins tute, is a professor of Gerontology at Cornell University’s School of Human Ecology and Weill Cornell Medical School.  His 30 year career has 

been devoted to studying the role that direct care workers play in aging, and he has developed innova ve training methods to improve their professionalism and skills.  An accomplished author and researcher, Dr. Pillemer has published extensively in the field of homecare training and the socializa on of older adults. 

Lisa Heller‐Salmon, RN, Director of Pa ent Services, is a registered nurse with over 15 years of leadership experience at the Visi ng Nurse Service of NY. Lisa has extensive clinical experience in home care 

with a focus on Geriatrics.  She received a cer ficate in transi onal care and popula on management from Duke University and is a candidate for her Masters degree in Public Health at the University of  Massachuse s, Amherst.   

Jennifer Fisher, LMSW, Esq., Director of Care Management, has dual training in law and social work; she is a licensed social worker and a orney with extensive experience in geriatric care management 

and elder law.  Jennifer is a member of the Na onal Associa on of Professional Geriatric Care Managers.  She graduated from Fordham University School of Law and Graduate School of Social Service and received her BA from Cornell University.
