Case: BRL Hardy: Globalizing an Australian Wine Company

Steve Millar, managing director of Australian wine producer BRL-Hardy has engaged you toreport on its international organizational structures and processes.

Millar is interested in youranalysis of the apparent tension between Stephen Davies and

Christopher Carson. He is also interested in yourrecommendation regarding 1) Carson's proposalto launchDinstinto, 2) a recommendation on the conflicting proposals forKelly's revenge and

Banrock station.

However, Millar is primarily interested in your help in defining the appropriate allocation of

roles and responsibilities between functional heads in headquarters and regional subsidiaries withbusiness development and entrepreneurial objectives.
