  • MontageDescription: Combining multiple photos to create one picture

    Date: 5/30/2015

Course/ Instructor: Comm 130 Section 1 Cory Kerr

Objectives: Find multiple photos and create a new picture that show a message.

    Programs:Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator

Process:I worked in Adobe Photoshop. I pulled in 3 photos and used the mask tool to blend in the different photos. I wanted to show a journey with time passing. So I looked for a quote that fit and then began looking for photos that fit the quote. I wanted the focal point to be the watch and then to have the viewers eye to lead up to the girl walking down the path. The last thing I wanted the viewer to do is read the quote. I began with finding a texture that was interesting and then I added in the watch and the walking photo. I changed the sizing and where I wanted the pictures to stop and begin.

  • Description: Gate fold brochure

    Date: 7/11/2015

Course/ Instructor: Comm 130 Section 1 Cory Kerr

Objectives: Create a brochure for a business. Design the company logo, and showcase the business.

Programs: Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator

Process:I began with sketching different designs for a photography business. I decided I wanted to have a gate fold concept with the camera lens meeting in the middle. Then I went and found a camera that I wanted to use. In Photoshop I took out the background and then loaded it into Indesign. Next I began working on the logo. In Illustrator I used the pen tool and the shape building tools to create a B in film. Then I placed photos from the business in my layout in Indesign.

Using word I wrote up the message and contact information. Last, I wrapped the title text around the camera.

  • LogosDescription: Design a logo and change the color schemes for each

    Date: 6/6/2015

Course/ Instructor: Comm 130 Section 1 Cory Kerr

Objectives: Create a logo that would work in different color schemes that show off a business.

    Programs: Adobe Illustrator

Process: I wanted to design a logo for my photography business. I wanted to show that I do classics photography. So I thought about using this type of a camera. I made a few sketches and I had the idea to align the lenses in a B and have the text on the top where the name of the camera would have been. I used Adobe Illustrator and used the rounded rectangle tool to start with the basic shape. I then added the lenses and the reflection spots to bring it all together.

  • Web PageDescription: Design a Web Page

    Date: 6/27/2015

Course/ Instructor: Comm 130 Section 1 Cory Kerr

Objectives: Design a web page using HTML and CSS. Programs: Notepad ++ Process:I created this page with the program notepad ++. I began with putting my logo image into the html document. I had to make sure I had titled the logo the same in the html in notepad as it was titled in my project folder. Then I began with coding the html document. Then using a premade css document I linked the two together. Next I drew some sketches of some of the things I wanted to try and learn to do. I refined my sketches so they were practical as well as interesting. Then I went into the documents and worked on getting it close to the sketches I made. I learned a lot about coding and how to add different things. Then I used photoshop to select color code and placed them into the css and then I finished with picking my fonts. I had to double check that they were common enough for every computer. I worked a lot with padding and placement of order in the CSS and HTLM. I wanted to make sure I had good space on both sides and that if flowed together.

  • PhotodesignDescription: Photodesign flier

    Date: 5/23/2015

Course/ Instructor: Comm 130 Section 1 Cory Kerr

Objectives: Take a photo and create a flier around that flier

    Programs: Adobe Photoshop

ProcessSo I first came up with an idea that I wanted to try. I wanted to try to take pictures of bubbles. I wanted this to be a leading picture. So I took my roommate and my DLRS camera and we went and tried different compositions with bubbles. Then I went back and sketched my ideas out and decided I wanted the picture to be placed in a circle. At first I wanted the text to be in a box that wrapped around the bubble with a right alignment. As I began in Photoshop, I realized that making it feel more like bubbles would be more consistent. So I placed both the picture and text in bubbles. I also decided to have the background be bubbles as well.

Objectives: Scan an image and using mircrosoft word design a flier.

Programs: Microsoft Word and HP deskjet Scanner Process:II scanned in an image of a tractor and then I deleted the whole background. I wanted the tractor to take 2/3 rds of the page and the writing to go around that. I wanted to have the viewers eyes move from the tractor to the title and the next step would be the where and then finally to the smaller text. I added in a textured background for more visual interest.
