The word civilization comes from theLatin civilis, meaning civil, during the 18thcentury Enlightenment a verb "civilize" cameto be commonly used, leading to a new word"civilization" to describe the result. The wordwas therefore opposed to barbarism orrudeness.

It is the first age inPrehistory, in this periodof time, human made fromstone many tools such asweapons; this age is alsodivided into 3 sub-ages:
1) The Old Stone Age
(Paleolithic):
The Paleolithic dates from
about 2.6 million years ago
and ended around
15,000BC, this period had
seen the invention of tools
made from stone such as
hand axes…. .

2. The Middle Stone Age
(Mesolithic):
The Mesolithic period began at
the end of the Paleolithic epoch,
about 12,000 BC, and ended with
the introduction of agriculture. In
this period Man uses some
handmade tools and objects
found in nature: bow and
arrow….. .3) The New Stone Age
(Neolithic):
The Neolithic period began at
the end of the Mesolithic
period; it began with the rise of
farming and ended when metal
tools were invented.

people began to use iron tools. Before this,
they had used bronze or stone tools Iron is
easy to find, but hard to make tools with.
