7. Assemble Unit B. Referring to Diagram 7 and noting orientation of the rows, sew one Row 1 and one Row 2 together for one Unit B. Unit B should measure 5½" square. Make a total of (84) [48] Unit B.

units, sew one Unit A to one Unit B for Block Row. Block Row should measure 5½" x 10½". Make a total of (84) [48] Block Rows.

Quilt Center Assembly10. Referring to Diagram 10 and noting orientation of the

blocks, sew six [four] Blocks together for one row. Row should measure 10½" x 60½" [40½"]. Make a total of seven [six] rows.

11. Referring to the Queen [Sofa] Quilt Layout Diagram (see page 5) and noting orientation of the rows, sew the seven [six] rows together for the quilt center. Quilt center should measure 60½" x 70½" [40½" x 60½"].

Quilt Top Assembly12. Inner Border. Sew one 2¼" x 70½" [60½"] Fabric E

(red paisley print) strip to each long side of the quilt center. Sew one 2¼" x 64" [44"] Fabric E (red paisley print) strip to each short side of the quilt center. Quilt center should measure 64" x 74" [44" x 64"].

13. Outer Border. Sew one 6½" x 74" [64"] Fabric A (large paisley print) strip to each long side of the quilt center. Sew one 6½" x 76" [56"] Fabric A (large paisley print) strip to each short side of the quilt center. Quilt Top should measure 76" x 86" [56" x 76"].

Finishing1. If not already prepared, sew the three (two) Fabric

F (tan small print) strips together along the 84" (sel-vage) length for the backing. Trim backing to measure approximately 84" wide x 94" long [64" wide x 84" long]. Note: The backing seams for the Queen Quilt will run vertically; the backing seam for the Sofa Quilt will run horizontally.

2. Place the quilt top right side up on the top of the bat-ting and the wrong side of the backing fabric.

3. Baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim the backing and batting even with the quilt top.

4. Sew the nine (seven) 2½" x WOF Fabric E (red pais-ley print) strips together (end to end) using 45° seams to make a continuous strip. Fold strip in half length-wise (with wrong sides together) and press. Bind as desired.
