Psalm 1:1-2

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

Psalm 1:3-4

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.


Psalm 1:5-6

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.


We instinctively study the things we LOVE.

We are to love God with our MIND.

We must make a CHOICE to move beyond knowing about God to knowing Him.

The counsel of the wicked comes down to who are you LISTENING to.

Standing in the way of sinners reflects the desire to FIT in with the world rather than STAND out for God.

Sitting in the seat of mockers addresses the COMPANY you hold.

What is the instruction of God except a REFLECTION of the character of God?

To delight in is to HUNGER for.

Many choices are simply a matter of what we want MORE.

To delight in is to MEDITATE on.

You continue to REFLECT on the Word after the cover is closed.

To delight in is to be SHAPED by.

Study is not to support our belief system but to DETERMINE it.
