Making The Lives of Others Brighter.Tiffin Community Foundation currently has over 80 individual funds benefiting the causes and passions of donors in Tiffin and Seneca County. Donors contributed over $2.7 million in 2018 enabling TCF to support our community in a way that empowers every citizen of Tiffin and Seneca County to live their best lives. From the organizations working to meet community needs, to the donors who have the resources to meet those challenges, collaborations are being forged around many shared interests every day.In 2018 we made 126 grants to over 60 different local non-profit organizations. We were able to channel more than $600,000 back into the community to support our families and children. With your help we are taking part in efforts to stop bullying and build character traits at local elementary schools. We are supporting efforts to improve literacy and education at all levels and we are helping to ensure that every one of our children is graduating with a plan for their future. 2018 Contributions and Dedications

New Scholarships Opened in 2018The Fredric C. and Deborah A. Spurck Scholarship FundOpened by their son Nick, in 2018, this fund honors the memory of Nick’s parents, Fred and Debbie Spurck. Honoring their love of animals, this fund will award annual scholarships to persons residing in Seneca County, with a preference for any applicant who has shown compassion for or volunteerism toward animals, or may be pursuing a career in the field of Animal Science.

The Umadevi and Dr. Prasad C. Kakarala Seneca County Schools Scholarship FundContinuing their efforts to offer scholarships to local students, Dr. and Mrs. Kakarala started this fund to begin offering scholarships at Seneca East High School in 2019 and plan to expand into other Seneca County Schools in years to come.

The Tiffin Community Foundation awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships for the 2017-2018 school year to Tiffin and Seneca County students.

White Charitable Fund. Through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. White, Tiffin Community Foundation is able to award grants to charitable organizations in Tiffin and Seneca County, Ohio.

The Catherine A. Matthews Reineke Memorial Fund

Created by her daughters, Suzie and Jacquelyn Reineke; this fund honors the memory of Cathy Reineke. The purpose of the fund shall be to provide grants and/or scholarships to qualified charitable or educational organizations for the purpose of supporting causes relating but not limited to mental illness and grieving support for children and adults.

The TCF Administrative FundThe Community Foundation Board of Directors established this fund to support its annual operating costs. The board strives to maintain low administrative fees while still being able to support the growth of the Foundation.

The Robert G. Teach Fund Established in 2018, The Teach Fund supports The American Civil War Museum of Ohio, The Seneca County Museum, The Humane Society of Seneca County, Friends of The Tiffin Bark Park, Republic Community Park, The Village of Republic Fire Department, and St. Jacobs United Church of Christ.

Board of TrusteesNine people from our community are nominated and elected Trustees to three year terms. They are unpaid volunteers. Four of them are nominated and elected Officers annually. They meet at least six times per year. The Board is responsible for the financial and administrative functions of The Tiffin Community Foundation. Appointments are made for fund advisors and grant application evaluators. The Board reviews and must approve the addition of new component funds of the Foundation, every grant awarded, every distribution, policies and financial documents. They are responsible for carrying out the mission of the foundation and its management. Their decisions help sustain the good works done in our community and provide for programs and opportunities that make our community a great place to live, learn and work.
