Brief:

Propose a series of poster designs for a few Jim Jarmusch films.

Background:

Jim Jarmusch is an American independent film director. His style of cinematography has often been described as minimalist - long scenes of silence and an unhurried pace characterize many of his films. This unique style provides interesting concepts for the development of promotional material.

Requirements:

The posters must be created with the films’ stylistic tendencies in mind.

Lettering Art Development

Each title has been hand-lettered in attempt to express the primary themes of the film. Naturally as each film is record-ed in black and white, the titles have been designed with a lack of colour to reflect this. Slight mistakes and imperfec-tions have also remained, as similarly this is also a common feature of the films.

Posters

Whereas the original posters shared only a number of similarities, this series has been designed to appear more consistent - a template has been applied across the range to suggest the crossovers between the films.
