Initial response to the ‘old joy record’ by Noah and the Whale.
It features time passing and coming back. I used the imagery of birds flying south and coming back to demonstrate this.

First glimpse of colour except the flat colour doesn’t work. The birds loose their personality.

Tried again with wax crayon-much better! I particularly like the 3d textured effect from the heavy layering that the scan has picked up. I want to keep this.

I like the picking out of a single bird but then it becomes too literal as though the song was re-ally about a bird. I need to keep the song secret and mysterious so need a more general image.

I think that this is a good bal-ance of showing the situation but not too much to confuse the message. The process works well as it gives a real one off feel to the sleeve. SUBMITTED!
