Transcript of Brief 1 & 4
Brief 1: Brands, Young People and CultureRationale:A research based investigation of Teen Brands with a focus on understanding the Brand/Culture relationship and how teens identify with brands
The starting point will be my 13 year old son’s bedroom to identify the brands to focus on.
Why? I want to extend my dissertation research of Vans and culture and apply deeper thinking to this subject to understand why Brands are so important to teenagers and their identity. The research will inform the outcome, which could be print or digital based.
Brands are being discussed in terms of Experiences and Lifestyles, about how people ‘feel’ about them.
An interim deadline of 30 March 2013 for the research element of the brief
Brief 4: Branding and promotion for small business
Rationale:This will be two live briefs one with a 3rd year Furniture Student who is planning to set his own business up after graduation. The other is with a Freelance Photographer who has a commercial practice however he wants me to Brand and Promote his Artistic Practice
This is an opportunity to collaborate and work on live briefs, which will result in exploring live print and digital based outcomes.
Products: Brand and Identity. Range: print collateral – Business Cards, stationary, Look book, Simple website for Furniture studentMethod of distribution: Identify suitable Creative platforms/ Exhibitions
