The brief is to design a series of posters for the First year Critical Studies programme, for the media and communication side of the college. I thought of the brief and proposed it to Richard who was very happy with the idea. There are fourteen lectures for the First year’s, running from the 5 th October to 21 st March, they cover many aspects in critical thinking and cultural surroundings. BRIEF 04. LIVE BRIEF. Richard Miles also wanted to brand the programme, which is known as Context of Pratice. He wanted a logo to capture what the idea of the department for the first years.

Posters.

The series of 14 posters, as and when the lecture has been coming up I have sent Richard the poster and asked for feedback. The posters were all well recieved and was happy with them.

As the posters continue after this module, I have deisgned all of the posters now ahead of the time. The posters all vary widely in style and approach suited to the lecture as I have researched.

Mainly typographic I have trie d to broaden my type knowledge to a certain degree whilst keeping design simple.

Posters.

The posters, printed and ready to promote the lectures, coming out the week of the lecture’s which are held on Wednesday morning.

The logo design of Context of Practice which is known amoung students as COP, appears on all of the posters in the same place every time to keep the design simple but branded as a collection due to all of the posters varying so much.

In Context.

Every week the posters are both printed and put up outside the studio theatre before the lecture so all students attending can see the poster and what the lecture is about. Hopefully engaging with them, showing them that there is a different side to lecture’s as it is an Art College.

The design also appears at the beginning of every lecture on the powerpoint as an introduction to the lecture. My design is there to set the scene.

Notebooks.

This is a proposed idea that notebooks will be available to purchase specifically from Context of Practice for Context of Practice. Ideal for making notes, the notebook is seperated into each individual lecture giving the user the space to make the notes in the appropriate area.

The notebook can come in two different sizes depending on which you would prefer. Inside, can also have key points for helping to make effective and scholarly notes.
