Since the 1950’s the Bridgman name has been synonymous with the supply of luxury furniture for the

home and garden. This year we are pleased to announce several initiatives that will enhance our

reputation for high quality products and maintain a first class service for our customers.

We are building a new additional warehouse to increase our storage facilities by almost 40% which will

enable us to hold more stock, which will in turn improve availability and delivery to our customers.

Last year we opened our third showroom - customers now have the option of visiting us in Enfield, Walton

on Thames or Sevenoaks, as well as purchasing our products online.

Bridgman offers the most luxurious rattan garden furniture that is completely maintenance free and guaranteed to look

good year after year. With a choice of over 150 different pieces in many different weaves customers can choose from one

of the largest selections available in the UK.

All Seasons is our premier range of rattan outdoor furniture. It is second to none in terms of style, comfort and

durability. It combines meticulous hand weaving with inspirational design and sumptuous cushions. Choose between a

large selection of weaves, each unique in colour and style.

Wickerline is our stylish and competitively priced range of rattan garden furniture which combines style, comfort and

durability with fantastic value for money.

WATERPROOF CUSHIONS

Bridgman has developed an exclusive range of waterproof cushions that can be left outside during the Spring and

Summer months. These cushions are automatically supplied on selected models or available as an option where indicated.

The top quality acrylic fabric is Teflon treated and completely waterproofed with a special membrane that will not let

water through the cushion surface and is almost impossible to stain.

These cushions withstand hail, rain and sun. It is recommended that waterproof cushions are stored in a dry place over

the winter months. Please refer to care instructions supplied with the cushions.

Our Kingston range is very stylish, high quality modular furniture that can be configured to your individual requirements. Each piece is supplied separately and comes with deep and sumptuous waterproof cushions, which in combination with the grand design creates luxurious seating to enhance any setting.

Individual pieces are easily combined to fit different size areas and layouts. This modular concept allows the seating to be infinitely expanded to suit the area. Each seating unit is supplied with fixings to secure the modular pieces together.

This range is available with a choice of Waterproof cushions in a Grey or Beige colour.Optional waterproof scatter cushions can be added in a choice of four bright contrasting colours: Turquoise, Plum, Rust or Tangerine to enhance the appearance of this unique modular range.

Bridgman’s Tilbury range is a modern and contemporary range and offers high quality modular furniture that can be configured to the customers’ individual requirements. Each piece is supplied separately and comes complete with fullywaterproof and stain proof acrylic cushions.This beautiful seating is robust and immensely practical as there is no need to remove or cover cushions during wet weather.Using just modular corner/end and centre units, it is possible to create seating to fit different size areas and layouts. This modular concept allows the seating to be infinitely expanded to suit almost any outdoor or indoor area. Each seating unit is

supplied with fixings to secure the modular pieces together.

Stone Weave is a new addition to the Bridgman All Seasons Range. It is modern in style and offers a high level of comfort. All products are automatically supplied with fully waterproof taupe cushions. The table top is made from syntheticpolyethylene materials and is highly stain and weather resistant. Care should be taken when using wax based products on this table as it may damage the surface. Cleaning of the weave simply involves washing with warm soapy water.

There are two different styles, straight modular and curved modular. Each style can only be combined with pieces from its own range (straight and curved pieces cannot be combined).

Each seating module is supplied separately and comes complete with attractive grey cushions.

This modular concept allows the seating to be infinitely expanded to suit almost any outdoor or indoor area. The curved modular seating can be expanded to create an inviting and sociable set that will greatly enhance any patio or deck-ing area. Bridgman has been designing and selling Teak garden furniture for over two decades. Genuine Teak (Tectona grandis) is the premier timber for outdoor furniture. Teak combines its’ beautiful appearance with a strength and durability that is unequalled by any other timber. Teak has a close grain and a naturally high oil content that makes it both stable and resistant to rot.

All Bridgman Teak furniture is made with the finest kiln dried plantation grown timber from completely reputable and legal sources.

Each piece of furniture in this range has been designed and developed by Bridgman, using the experience and expertise gained over many years of manufacturing furniture. Meticulous care has been taken at every stage to create the various unique features that epitomise Bridgman style and innovation.

Much of the construction of the furniture is carried out using methods that are entirely traditional, but further enhanced with the advantage of modern and advanced manufacturing techniques. Traditional solid brass fittings feature on many pieces. Where extra strength is required, zinc plated steel fittings are incorporated. Both materials are entirely suitable for exterior use. The combination of old and new procedures ensure the highest standards of production and the ultimate quality of the furniture.

Environmentally friendlyThe Teak Bridgman uses for its’ models comes mainly from the island of Java in Indonesia. It is grown in plantations and we are pleased to give our assurance that our Teak does not come from tropical rainforests. The plantations are nearly all owned and controlled by the Indonesian government department, Perum Perhutani. The Teak originates from plantations that were first established in the Indonesian islands about 150 years ago, by the Dutch. Perum Perhutani now manages most of these plantations, applying a policy of strict and careful cultivation, which began in the nineteenth century and has continued successfully to this present day. Bridgman maintains a policy of promoting good practice with regard to the origins of their timbers.

Aftercare of WoodAll timbers used in the making of our outdoor ranges are classified as “Very Durable”. Our TEAK furniture leaves the factory untreated. Dependent on personal taste, a prompt decision will need to be made regarding whether or not to treat the timber with any kind of wood treatment.

To help maintain a more original appearance, the furniture should be treated with an application of Bridgman Treatment, or any other suitable product, always carefully following the manufacturer’s instructions. It is not necessary to treat the wood to ‘preserve’ it. Treating the timber simply slows down the weathering process.

If left untreated, the furniture will gradually turn an attractive Silver Grey colour, which is an oxidization of the surface. Small cracks may appear, especially on the end grain, but these are perfectly normal characteristics and will not affect the strength or durability of the timber.

When re-treating the furniture it is essential to first clean it to remove any dirt, using either a scrubbing brush and warm soapy water, or a jet wash. Cleaning is absolutely necessary otherwise a new application of treatment will seal in any dirt or marks. When completely dry, lightly sand the surfaces. It is particularly important to sand off any weathered areas, before re-treating.

Bridgman park benches use only the finest plantation grown teak. Traditional manufacturing techniques are used to make strong substantial pieces of furniture that should last for decades. All park benches are supplied untreated and are fully assembled in our factory prior to delivery.

Club benches are good quality lightweight Teak benches that are ideal for domestic use. They are available in two sizes and will be an excellent addition to any garden. Club Benches are supplied untreated for simple home assembly.

This medium duty umbrella shades a large area and can be easily wound up and down and adjusted to different angles as required. The complete umbrella can be rotated through 360° without the need to move the base. This model is supplied with a medium duty almond fabric and comes complete with a lightweight cover for protection when the umbrella is not in use. Each umbrella is supplied with either a resin base or a metal ground sleeve depending on customer preference. When 90% filled with water, the resin base gives a total weight of approximately 100 kgs. The umbrella must only be used when the base is full of water. Sand can be added to the water if extra ballast is required. To create a permanent underground fixing, the metal sleeve needs to be installed with a suitable concrete base under the ground. The hole depth needs to be at least 60cm.

Which Base to select and Important Safety Information

Siesta Cantilever Umbrellas should only be used with the Siesta resin base or Siesta inground base.

Other Cantilever models have a metal base frame that requires either a resin base (BRUMC3) or 4 flagstones, 45cm x 45cm x 5cm with a weight of 25kg each – a total of 100kg

Centre Pole umbrellas all require a separate base as indicated with each model.

All Umbrellas must only be used with suitable ballast and safely anchored taking into account local conditions. They should not be erected in breezy conditions and should never be left up unattended.

We do not cut corners on raw material costs, ensuring that the durability of Bridgman furniture is first class.To underline the confidence we have in the quality of Bridgman furniture, most of our ranges benefit from our extended guarantee as detailed below.

All Seasons Rattan – 10 year domestic guarantee

Wickerline Rattan, Teak and Aluminium – 3 year domestic guarantee We undertake to guarantee these ranges for two years Parts and Labour plus a further one or eight years parts only from the date of purchase, against faults in the materials or workmanship. During the initial two year period products will be repaired or have parts replaced at the discretion of the Company free of charge. During the additional one or eight year period, parts only will be replaced. The terms of this guarantee are listed below.

Damage such as dents, scratches, marks or similar imperfections are not covered. Slight fading of rattan weave is normal over longer periods of time. Q. Can the furniture really be left outside all year?

A. Yes, all our furniture is made with materials that can remain outside all year long, in rain, snow and sun.

Cushions should be taken in during wet weather. Waterproof cushions can remain outside throughout the summer.

Q. What is the all weather wicker made from?

A. It is a polyethylene based extruded fibre that is strong, flexible and durable. The material is U.V. and weather resistant and the All Seasons range has been tested to -70c and +80c. The wicker will not split or crack and will show no noticeable signs of fading.

Q. What are the rattan garden furniture frames made from?

A. Good quality tubular aluminium, finished with powder coating to ensure a long and trouble free life.

Q. Where can I find all the dimensions and weights of the furniture and other products?

A. These are shown in this catalogue next to each product.

Q. Can I have different colour cushions?

A. Each range has it’s own colour cushions to compliment the weave and are not interchangeable.

Q. I want a table from one range but prefer the chairs from another, can I have them both in the same weave?

A. All our ranges are individually designed for the relevant weave and are only available as shown in this catalogue.

Q. Do I have to cover my furniture?

A. No, Bridgman furniture is made to withstand all weather conditions. You may wish to cover it to keep it clean, but it is otherwise not necessary.

Q. Do I have to treat or maintain my furniture?

A. Our all weather wicker and aluminium furniture will only ever need washing down with slightly soapy water if it gets dirty. For teak furniture see page 122.

Q. If the cushions become dirty or stained, can I clean them?

A. Nearly all our cushions have removable covers and we normally recommend cool washing. Please refer to the aftercare label found on each cushion.

Q. What if anything goes wrong with my furniture?

A. Bridgman has been making and selling furniture for over 50 years and has an enviable reputation throughout the industry. If anything should go wrong, a quick call to our Customer Services department will normally resolve any problem quickly and efficiently.

Q. What timber do you use on your wooden garden furniture?

A. We use good quality kiln dried Teak from Indonesia which comes from carefully managed plantations and forests. We never use illegal woods.
