BRIDGE Bill- what is it?
HB 400◦Building Resourceful Individuals to Develop Georgia’s Economy
◦Impacts middle and high school
BRIDGE Bill
Impact on Middle School:◦Students in grades 6-7-8 will be
provided advisement to assist them in evaluating their academic skills and career interests.
◦Prior to the end of grade 8- students will develop an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) in consultation with parents or appointed guardians.
BRIDGE Bill
Career Exploration curriculum will be delivered through a web-based
program called Career Cruising.
Career Cruising includes an interest inventory, skills inventory, and a
learning styles inventory which help students identify potential
career pathways.

As part of high school registration in the spring, eighth graders will
be required to select a career pathway.
The Career Matchmaker results can be used to guide students
and parents in making career pathway choices.

As of now, these are the requirements in order for your student to graduate high school in 2016. (Reminder, requirements are subject to change)
Graduation Requirements
Math 4 credits
Science 4 credits
English 4 credits
Social Studies 3 credits
Health & Personal Fitness 1 credit
Electives 4 credits
Pathway - 3 credits in one of the following areas: Foreign Language, Fine Arts, Career/Tech.
Total - 23 credits
