Bridging the TEL gap"TEL is used to describe the application of information and communication technologies to teaching and learning"

PURPOSE :-• To use new methods of TEL in the classroom• To challenge the students• To challenge myself with different teaching methods• To meet learning needs through VARK

AIM :-The aim was to introduce a new TEL tool to the class. I wanted to build confidence in the students in the use of new technology. Lastly I wanted to ensure stimulus variation within my lesson.

TEL TrialGiving Everyone A Voice

The TEL tool I used was Today's Meet which is a blogging platform allowing all students to interact in a discussion. I introduced this via a live presentation and encouraged all students to participate in answering questions.

CHALLENGES :-• Can't stop the students logging back in later• Need to ensure all students participate• Students can easily go off topic• System can be abused if students are immature

RESULTS :-It proved to be an excellent learning and assessment tool which was learner centred.Student Feedback"Today's Meet was so good, I enjoyed myself""Today's Meet was helpful and interesting""fun to blog with everybody"

FUTURE :-• Give the students a timescale for the activity so they don't get carried away• Upgrade the package so that the rooms can be locked• Have more questions planned
