RTAG UPDATE (SINCE RADBUG 2013)
Report submitted to BrDR TF in November 2013
Report has 25 recommendation to improve the reports
TF asked the contractor to review the recommendations and prepare estimates
The Baker (contractor) submitted their responses and estimates (some) to the TF in June 2014
1. Naming convention for the reports be made standardized & meaningful.
2. Provide a list of all reports with short introduction in the help menu.
3. Provide option to include the name of the rater and the date of report generated in the report header.
RTAG Recommendations
4. Show Bridge ID/Bridge Alternate/Structure ID/Structure Alternate in the report header
5. Control Options & default values used in the analysis should be shown & labeled accordingly in the reports
6. Create a summary report of load ratings of all current and existing “Bridge Alternates.”
7. 1-2 pages concise rating summary report.
8. A comprehensive report to re-create a bridge data file without going through bridge plans.
9. The reports generated in the BrDR programs should display which elements of the bridge had been checked
10.List dead loads in separate columns (e.g., DC & DW should be in separate columns).
11.List deflections due to parts of dead and live loads separately
12.List live load alone and L+I load moments and shears separately. List impact factor on all reports that include impact of the live load
13.Live load forces should be clearly labeled if they are distributed or not distributed.
14.Provide a list of report parts at one place to create a la carte reports (“smart reports”). Provide a report tab listing all the reports.
15.Provide separate Spec Check Reports of passed and failed checks. Hyperlinks are good & recommended.
16.Provide all essential cross-section properties at critical points
17.Summarize moments/shear/axial forces for various components
18.Option to upload a logo file (jpg/png/gif) in the report header
19.Enhance truss reports20.Give option to generate output reports in the
PDF format at member and bridge levels21.Some headers and other formatting of the
XML reports are needed to be revised
22.Include wind data in Substructure Design output report
23.Include eccentricity with the girder reactions in the Substructure
24.Provide moment, shear and axial force tables for all members of the culvert analyzed
25.Detailed/comprehensive reports at BE level. Modify the Bridge Rating Results report at BE level to include location of controlling rating factors & limit state.
