Drinking water is by far our most important natural resource

and fundamental for our health.

Worldwide the limitations regarding materials and their infl uences

on drinking water quality are increasingly getting stricter.

Therefore, the proper choice of suitable alloys for drinking water

installations is one of the most crucial aspects.

Technical, economic, and – with growing interest – hygienical

characteristics have to be considered.

Enclosed Diehl Metall Messing offers you a compilation of suitable

alloys for drinking water installations.

All enclosures provide the recent information regarding the approval process.

Single enclosures will be updated if required.

Brass alloys – specially designed for the requirements of drinking water applications

10. Corrosion resistance In general good resistance to organic substances and neutral or alkaline compounds. Very good resistance against dezincifi cation. Resistant against stress corrosion cracking.

11. Dezincifi cation resistance according to ISO 6509 This alloy meets the requirements of the relevant standards.

12. Typical applications Particularly suitable for use in drinking water by the high corrosion resistance. Alloy 430 is a lead-free brass showing good processing behaviour in forging, cold forming and machining. High-strength engineering material.

Processings at temperatures above 580°C have a negative effect to the dezincifi cation resistance. To ensure maximum dezincifi cation resistance, it must be therefore adjusted again by a suitable heat treatment. For further information please contact the manufacturer.
