Congratulations. We all knew this day would come and it is finally here, profitability in the cattle sector. We could not be happier for everybody as all reports from this fall’s calf run were great and all indicators are pointing to even higher prices this spring. It is truly time for all of us to cash in and enjoy what are going to be great times in the cow calf sector.

Welcome to the 6th Annual Branding the Best Bull Sale. It is truly humbling to have the support that we have seen over the past few years and look forward to your evaluation of the bull pen this year. Whether it be the repeat buyers which have been the life blood of our operation, or all the new people we have had the pleasure of doing business with, we really appreciate your support. We have several new sire groups to offer this year and a few of the proven bulls that you have seen in years past. From top to bottom, we are really excited about this year’s lineup. Whether it be calving ease, curve benders, high performance, maternal traits, red or black we can point you in the right direction.

Our management style has not, and will not change. Our cows have to work for us. The purebreds make a living with the commercial cows and must do so under minimal supervision and inputs. After 20 years of being in the purebred industry, we have a firm grasp of the cow families that work and which ones don’t under our management structure. We firmly believe that these cattle will work under any environment that they are put in. You can rest assured that we are constantly looking for reasons that a bull should become a steer and a cow should become a hamburger.

The bulls were weaned September 25th and put on a hay diet with a 14% screenings pellet. The bulls have been sorted through 3 times over the past 12 months and if we have an issue with the mother, then refer to the previous paragraph. We refuse to push these bulls to “artificial” weights. We would rather promote genetic expression and let you decide what bull works for you. We truly enjoy hearing from customers that “still got that old bull!”.

We would again like to welcome Kevin and Becky Anderson from Four Bar X Ranch. They are bringing another great group of black bulls to town.
