Shell ± CSR

Sustainable development - We help to meet the world¶s growing energy needs in economically, environmentally and socially

responsible ways. Our Business Principles have guided our choice of portfolio and products, and governed the way we operate

Environment - Advanced technology, new ways of operating and partnerships are helping to manage our environmental impact

as we contribute to meeting the world¶s growing energy needs

Alternative energies for transport - Road transport accounts for about 17% of energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2)

emissions. By 2050 the number of cars on the road is expected to treble and trucking activities double. Meeting growing demandfor cleaner, lower-CO2 transport fuels will need a range of approaches, including vehicles powered by biofuels, electricity,

compressed natural gas and hydrogen fuel cells

Shell Eco-marathon - The Shell Eco-marathon challenges high school and college student teams from around the world to

design, build and test energy efficient vehicles. With annual events in the Americas, Europe and Asia, the winners are the teams

that go the farthest distance using the least amount of energy

Society - We supply energy, which helps support economic growth and development. At our operations we try to address social

concerns and work to benefit local communities, to protect our reputation and support our business

Safety - Safety is always our top priority. We aim to have zero fatalities and no incidents that harm people, or put our

neighbours or facilities at risk

Working around the world - We are working steadily, around the world, to help reduce the impacts of our projects and

operations and deliver benefits
