General InformationSt Catherine’s holiday programs aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can go during the holidays to play, relax and learn new skills.All our programs are open to the students of the school, siblings, boys and girls in the community. We offer a range of programs including multi-activity, sport specific, educational, vocational and residential stays. The standard opening hours are from 9.00am-3.30pm with the main activities on offer from 9.30am. Busy working parents can take advantage of our early and late clubs, no matter what program they are taking, which extend the day from 7.30am-6.00pm at an additional charge.

TENNIS CAMP COMBOS

Tennis Camp + Just 4 Fun9.30am - 3.30pm | $65 a day Available in Week 3 - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

EARLY AND LATE CLUBS (Available all holidays for anyone attending holiday programs).

Balancing family life with holiday programs, work and other commitments can be challenging. We endeavour to support working families that face the challenge of supervising their children outside of the program times by providing early and late clubs at an extra cost. This service operates daily from 7.30-9.00am and 3.30-6.00pm. It is important that all children are collected no later than 6.00pm, otherwise a penalty of $10.00 for each 15 minutes will be applied to cover staffing costs.

Bookings cannot be made without full payment at the time of booking. All registration details (including special needs, emergency contacts and authorisations) must be completed before bookings can be accepted. Please advise staff in writing of any changes.

There are no refunds, credits or transfers for days booked and paid for without a medical certificate. Refund requests must be made in writing to the Director of Sport and BTC with attached medical certificate, which must be received no later than two weeks after the holiday period.

If a participant is aged 12 years or under they MUST be collected by an adult nominated on the enrolment form. Notice in writing is required if the child is to be collected by anyone not nominated on the Enrolment

Form. Children aged over 12 are allowed to leave unaccompanied, providing a letter is sent with the enrolment form from the parent/guardian giving permission for them to do so.

Program hours are to be strictly adhered to. Please ensure participants arrive, enrol and are collected on time to avoid any late fee. St Catherine’s School reserves the right to cancel programs if there are insufficient enrolments at no cost to the participants.

J4F (JUST FOR FUN)Everyday | Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm | $50 a day or $225 for the week (5 days) (Extra $25 charge for excursion day - Wednesdays)

J4F (Just for fun) is a multi-activity program offering a wide range of activities to suit all ages and interests. These activities vary from sports to performing and creative arts and offer girls and boys a great opportunity to try out new activities in a safe environment surrounded by supportive and experienced staff. Our program enhances the develop-ment of skills, knowledge and understanding in physical, social and emotional and intellec-tual areas.

Through the fun and exciting experiences that we plan for our students on the Holiday Program, we strive for students to develop positive attitudes towards a physically active lifestyle, nurture relationships with their peers and improve their overall self-esteem and leadership skills. We want to encourage our students to challenge and question the world around them and outside of the classroom setting.

J4F EXCURSIONSOnce a week on a Wednesday, all girls and boys will attend an excursion. There will be an additional charge of $25 on these days which will cover the cost of the activity, transport if needed and an excursion t-shirt for the day. No late bookings for an excursion day will be accepted, please book no later than the Wednesday prior to the excursion. Please note that the excursion is the only J4F option on Wednesdays.

Week 1Monday 26 June - Friday 30 June

SingMonday 26 June | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65Inspired by the movie ‘Sing’, students are asked to come prepared with their favourite character and song from the movie to perform as students will work collaboratively to create a talent show. Students will be guided by our talented staff to develop their stage presence, singing technique, acting skills, confidence and sense of fun in performance. Students are encouraged to dress up as their chosen character or in a costume or outfit ready for the stage.

Sunny Prints

Tuesday 27 June | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65During a nature walk around the school, we will collect interesting natural objects which will form the composition of our art works. By placing the objects on special light sensitive paper and exposing the paper to sunlight we will create a sun print.  We will incorporate other mediums to create a beautiful finished art work inspired by nature.

J4F Excursion – Event Cinemas Bondi Junction Wednesday 28 June | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am-3.30pm | $75 (Please note that the excursion is the only J4F option on Wednesdays)

We’ll head off with our friends to the Event Cinemas at Bondi Junction to catch the latest release children’s film. Film to be confirmed closer to the date.

Master Chef

Thursday 29 June | Boys and girls aged 7+ | 9.30am- 3.30pm | $65 The Master Chef program is a unique opportunity for children interested in cooking to learn the basic skills and techniques needed to embark on a lifetime love of cooking. Participants will learn basics in: kitchen safety, proper food handling, preparation, cooking and baking techniques all organised around a Snacktastic theme.

Dramatic DahlFriday 30 June | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am- 3.30pm | $65Inspired by the works of Roald Dahl our Dramatic Dahl workshop will focus on improvisation, character development, drama games, acting and performance skills as students bring to life characters such as The Twits, the BFG, Matilda and Charlie and his friends from the chocolate factory.

Eruptions and ExplosionsMonday 3 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65

Join the mess and pure fun of our eruptions and explosions science workshop as we make ordinary household items pop, bang and ooze with our extraordinary chemical reactions. Not only is this workshop explosive fun, students will be introduced to basic scientific principles as they learn about basic chemical compounds, states of matter, acids and bases.

Clay Creepy Crawlies (Juniors) Tuesday 4 July | Boys and girls aged 8+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65

Modelling out of Terracotta clay and decorating with mixed media; beads, wire, cane, pipe cleaners and paint, students will create a variety of beautiful bugs and insects.

Multi SportsWednesday 5 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am-3.30pm | $65

There’s no boring drills in our Multi Sports workshop. We use a game sense approach so students can learn and refine their skills through a series of modified games to suit the age and skill levels of our participants. Not only is game sense the most fun way to learn skills it also allows students to practice and refine their skills in real game situations. Students will rotate through a series of sessions in a number of sports including but not limited to: AFL, basketball, cricket, soccer, and tennis.

J4F Incursion – Laser Warriors (Please note that the incursion is the only J4F option on Wednesday)

Wednesday 5 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am-3.30pm | $75 a day

We will welcome the crew form Laser Warriors who will turn St Catherine’s into our very own laser tag arena. Student’s will have the opportunity to play objective oriented games such as Capture the Flag or King of the Hill or LaserSport Fitness and Coordination activities which focus on aiming for targets whilst doing fun fitness tasks aimed at improving hand to eye coordination and gross motor skills.

From Story to ScriptThursday 6 July | Boys and girls aged 7+ | 9.30am- 3.30pm | $65

This workshop is students who love reading, storytelling and creative writing. Students will be introduced to the basics of character development, creating scenes and turning a story of their own or a well-known story into a script.

Gymnastics Jamberoo

Friday 7 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65

Our Gymnastics Jamberoo is for everyone. Our workshops will develop strength, flexibility and co-ordination while building confidence in body movement. The program will comprise a variety of activities including both men’s and women’s artistic and rhythmic gymnastics apparatus and skills.

Triple Threat On Set – I Love the 80’sMonday 3 July - Wednesday 5 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $195 for 3 days (Students must enrol in all 3 days of the program)

SEEKING: Talented youngsters who were born for the stage. No experience necessary but a passion for singing, dancing and acting is a MUST.

This winter holidays St Catherine’s is proud to present the next instalment in our series of ‘Triple Threat On Set’ workshops which are designed to give students the experience of being

on the set rehearsing and starring in a musical theatre performance. Students will work in ensemble groups and participate in a series of fun and energetic workshops to produce their chorus numbers and scenes with our shows director and assistants culminating in a review for parents and friends on the final day. Students will gain skills in singing technique, stage craft, different dance styles and confidence as they strive to become a true ‘Triple Threat’.

This time around we are going to get Footloose and Famous as we flashback to the some of the most ‘radical’ musicals of the 80’s. Don’t forget your leg warmers!

Auditioning 101Monday 10 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65

Does your child dream of becoming a star? Well our Auditioning 101workshop might just be for them. Using a series of fun games and activities students will practice their skills of improvisation, discover and develop their strengths, gain understanding the importance stage presence and gain confidence to help them on their path to stardom.

Dreamtime Monday 10 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65

This workshop will be inspired by Australian indigenous culture. We will draw an Australian animal or dream time theme and create a vibrant artwork using a variety of mediums; charcoal, chalk pastels, and paint.

Sweet Treats Tuesday 11 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65

Does your child have a sweet tooth and love to help out in the kitchen? Our sweets treats workshop is an introduction cooking learning about kitchen safety and food preparation and handling as students prepare some simple but delicious desserts.

Winter WondersTuesday 11 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65

This science workshop is inspired by the season of winter, taking advantage of the cooler weather students will perform some simple experiments with frost, ice and snow with wondrous results.

J4F Excursion – AttracTivity, Alexandria (Please note that the excursion is the only J4F option on Wednesdays)

Wednesday 12 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am-3.30pm | $75 a day

We’re off to AttracTivity Entertainment Centre where students will enjoy unlimited activities such as Ten Pin Bowling Rope Climbing Course, Dodgem Track, XD Theatre Laser Frenzy and Amusement Games.

Master ChefThursday 13 July | Boys and girls aged 7+ | 9.30am- 3.30pm | $65

The Master Chef program is a unique opportunity for children interested in cooking to learn the basic skills and techniques needed to embark on a lifetime love of cooking. Participants will learn basics in: kitchen safety, proper food handling, preparation, cooking and baking techniques all organised around a Flavours of Asia theme.

Build a BridgeThursday 13 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am- 3.30pm | $65

Is your child a budding builder, emerging engineer or just crazy about construction then our Building a Bridge is the workshop for them. Students will explore the basic foundations of construction and engineering as they embark on a series of fun and challenging micro building activities to create miniature versions of some of the world’s most iconic bridges and buildings.

Beading & Jewellery DesignFriday 14 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am- 3.30pm | $65

Spend the day beading with your friends learning about the effective use of patterns, colour and composition as well as using a variety of jewellery fixings, beads and tools to create custom designed and unique beaded jewellery pieces for yourself or to give as a gift.

Mystery SolvingFriday 14 July | Boys and girls aged 7+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65

Super sleuth’s required to decipher the clues, crack the codes and use your powers of deduction to determine the culprit in our new mystery. Our Mystery Solving workshop is a great opportunity for students to improve their problem solving and critical thinking skills in a really fun and engaging way.

Tennis Camp Everyday in Week 3 | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 12.30pm | $45 a day (Tennis Camp Combo also available. Add J4F or multisports 12.30pm - 3.30pm for an additional $20)

Our tennis camp caters for boys and girls of all abilities and provides young players the opportunity to improve their tennis game, work hard, make new friends and have a lot of fun. Our tennis camps are run by our fun and talented BTC tennis coaches.

Just 4 Fun’s Got TalentMonday 17 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am- 3.30pm | $50

All children have special talents that they love to share. It might be singing, dancing, magic tricks, soccer juggling or skipping, whatever it is they will get their chance to shine in our Just for Fun’s Got Talent Showcase. Over the day we will play lots of fun musical, drama and circus games while we develop the student’s acts that they will perform on the stage of the Jane Barker Hall in the afternoon.
