In making comparisons, it’s is important to tell about similarities and differences.

For example, if you are comparing basketball and football, you could say that they are both sports that involve a ball, but that football is much more of a contact sport than basketball.

If you are comparing rap music and jazz, you could say that they are both forms of music that find their roots in African culture, but that rap music is much more lyrically driven and jazz music is much more musically driven.
