Sports Day Concession Stand

The PAC is running a concession stand for Sports Day. Donuts, muffins, coffee, hotdogs, chips, candy bags, freezies and cold beverages are just a few items that will be on sale. Students will have time to make a purchase during the lunch hour. Hot dogs/chips/juice or milk have been ordered ahead of time and will be delivered to your child’s classroom before the eating period. SPORTS DAY – FRIDAY, JUNE 6TH We are looking forward to another exciting Sports Day. Students are encouraged to bring their decorated bicycles to school for the parade and slow bicycle race (helmet required). Students will then participate in a variety of events at 12 different stations followed by an afternoon of large group activities culminating in a huge TUG-O-WAR competition! Parents are always most welcome to attend and cheer on their child(ren)’s house team. PLEASE remember that if it is a torrential down pour on FRIDAY, June 6th there is an alternate date of WEDNESDAY, June 11th for Sports Day with the hope of better weather.

There will be a concession with hot dogs, milk, chocolate milk, juice, etc. Don’t forget about the volunteer sign up sheet. More forms are at the office if you need one.

Year end Slide Show Many of you take pictures of our students throughout the year. Please send your pictures by the end of the second week of the month to Mrs. Christian, e-mail address: Sharon_Christian @sd34.bc.ca for possible inclusion into her slide show at the year end assembly.

Home Reading Forms - due in by May 31st. If your child is not sure about a month being filled out or not, please just fill out a duplicate form. The Reading Program “BIKE” prize drawing will take place at our year end assembly on Thursday, June 26th.

Track & Field Our track season got off to a good start. Students will continue to practice TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS, from 2:20-3:13 p.m., as they prepare for the upcoming district track meet on Friday, June 13th at Rotary Stadium. Consent forms were sent home earlier this week. This is a mandatory event for all grades 4-7 as a portion of their PE mark is derived from their participation in this event

School Supply Order Forms for 2014-15

School Supply Order Forms for the 2014 – 2015 school year are due into the office by Wednesday, June 4th. (No late orders accepted).

Sports Day – Hot Dog Orders Hot Dog order forms for Sports Day on Friday, June 6th, were sent home last week. Feel free to order for siblings and yourself. Orders will be delivered to your childʼs classroom. Order forms are due back by (tomorrow) Friday, May 30th.

West Zone Track Meet @ Rotary West Zone Track and Field Schedule 2013-2014 (Friday, June 13th) Students from Grade 4 - 7 have been working hard. They will be given a schedule with the events and times posted. All events are held at Rotary Stadium. Students are expected to arrive at Rotary Stadium by 10:00 and events will run until 1:50 pm. (Please check your child’s schedule for event times and locations). Our athletes have been training hard for the upcoming track and field meet and are excited and looking forward to a fun filled day. Parents are reminded that students should dress for the weather and bring a substantial lunch and plenty of water. If your child is on any medication (inhalers, etc.), please make sure they have it in their backpack. Other items to bring are hats, sunscreen, RUNNING SHOES, gym strip, extra water, appropriate clothing for the weather. There will be a concession available (lineups always exist).

As well, parents and grandparents are always encouraged to attend and cheer on our Bulldogs! “Good luck to all our athletes”

Kindergarten Registration 2014/2015 School Year

Kindergarten Registration 2014/15 School Year Children who will turn 5 before January 1, 2015 are eligible to begin school in September 2014. If you have a child who is ready to start Kindergarten please come by the office to register. If you know of a neighbour or family new to the area, please pass on this information to them.

VOLUNTEER NEEDED FOR SPORTS DAY If you could “VOLUNTEER” your time (especially early morning) for “Sports Day”, please contact the office @ (604) 856-3304. Parents and students have always been super helpful getting games and larger items to the field in preparaton for the days events.

Year End Assembly Our year end assembly on June 26th will be held at 10:30 a.m.. Please plan to attend our final assembly as we say farewell to our Grade 7’s; acknowledge students receiving awards and enjoy our annual slide show. You may take your child with you after the assembly if you choose, although classroom instruction will continue until 3:18 pm. Please let classroom teachers known your intentions.
