Packaged ProgramsIf you are successful in being accepted into a Bradford College program, you will also receive an offer for a place in the corresponding bachelor degree program from the University of Adelaide. This enables you to apply for a student visa which is up to five years in length. Many students change their minds with regard to the bachelor degree during the Foundation Studies program. This is possible provided any prerequisite subjects are covered. Our counsellors will assist you with your decision during the year.
On CampusMost classes are conducted on the campus of the University of Adelaide.
The Bradford CurriculumThe Bradford curriculum is specifically designed, with the support of the University of Adelaide, to prepare students for success at university. There is flexibility in planning programs to meet individual needs.
Language Learning Support
Bradford College offers a Language Learning Support program to help our students achieve their best. All Bradford College students have access to Language Learning Support sessions whereby everyweek,studentscanbookaone-on-one,30minutesessionwith a Bradford College tutor. These sessions provide students with individual academic support and allow for personalised help and feedback.Thisserviceisprovidedfreeofchargetoallourstudents.

Why study at Bradford College?

Guaranteed PlaceAt the conclusion of your Bradford College program, you will have a guaranteed place at the University of Adelaide providing you have met the necessary conditions and prerequisites, including the University’s required IELTS score.
Scores RequiredDegree Transfer student must achieve a pass grade (minimum 50%) in all subjects and achieve an IELTS of 6.0 (with 6.0 in writingandspeakingand5.5inlisteningandreading)toenterthe second year of degree programs at the university. Students wishing to enter the Bachelor of Health Science need a higher IELTS score of 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in all bands).
The Foundation scores required to secure admission to undergraduate programs at the University of Adelaide are listed on page 18 and 19 of this brochure.
Bradford College Foundation Studies graduates are accepted at other prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) universities in Australia, for example the University of Melbourne and the University of Sydney.
Studentswhoreceivemarkslowerthanthethresholdpublishedare given assistance with gaining a place in an alternative but related undergraduate program or at another institution with different requirements. Our counsellors assist students with this process. Bradford College Foundation Studies graduates have also been accepted at a number of other universities in Australia and some in the UK.
English ProficiencyIn individual cases, Bradford College may assess a student’s English language proficiency by administering the Bradford English test. The College may also accept alternative evidence of an applicant’s English proficiency in individual cases.
Applicants who have an IELTS overall band score of 4.5* or more but do not meet the English proficiency requirements for direct entry into one of the College’s programs will need to enrol in an English language preparation program at Bradford College prior to commencing their main program.

Under 18 StudentsWhileBradfordCollegewelcomesandtakesspecialinterestinstudents under the age of 18, the University of Adelaide has rules regarding the admission of students who are under 18 years old. Students must be at least 18 years old at the commencement of their respective University of Adelaide degree program. Please contact the College to ensure you comply with the University’s age admission requirements.

Bradford College is proud to announce partnerships with two of the largest professional accounting and auditing service organisations in the world, KPMG and Ernst and Young. Through these partnerships we have established an internship program for our Degree Transfer students.
All high achieving students studying the Degree Transfer program canbeeligibleforthefollowing:

Entry is usually by selection or by special application. This subject suits students who enjoy independent reading. Degree TransferThe Degree Transfer program offers the first year of the bachelor degree at the University of Adelaide in an intensive format with additional learning support especially for English language and difficult concepts in subjects such as mathematics. Degree TransferThe Degree Transfer program is designed to give students fast trackaccesstoabachelordegreeattheUniversityofAdelaideif they cannot enter the degree program directly. The Degree Transfer program is a combination of bridging material and first year course material from the University of Adelaide degree program. HomestayHomestay is the arrangement whereby you stay with a family in their home, living and eating with them. Homestay is therefore your opportunity to have a uniquely Australian experience. As Australia is a multicultural country, homestay can be an opportunity to understand different cultures so that you will develop an appreciation for other ways of living.
The homestay experience is ideal for developing English language skillsandassistswithyouradjustmenttoAustraliabyprovidingafamily atmosphere bridging you into Australian society.
Homestay can also be an enriching experience where lifelong relationships and friendships are formed, thus adding tremendous value to your overseas study experience. University AccommodationAccommodation is also available to students at the University of Adelaide Village. Applications should be made directly to the Universityonlineviawww.adelaide.edu.au/accommodation. You will be required to commit to one full year and pay 12 months rent in advance.
Independent Rental AccommodationIndependent rental accommodation (including shared house accommodation) is an option only open to students over the age of 18. Students will need to find their own property.
This option provides you with more independence, privacy and freedom than other forms of accommodation and costs approximately$5,000-$10,000peryearplusfourweeks rent for bond. The cost of independent rental does not include meals and other living expenses. Included in the rent is the cost of repairs, but not electricity, gas, internet, telephone connection and usage or water usage. You will have to do all thehouseworkyourself,includingbuyingfoodandgeneralhouseholdduties,preparingmeals,keepingthehouseclean,doing your own laundry, etc.
You will be required to sign a lease of at least six months (andsometimes12months),payabondoffourweeksrent,and provide references. Another consideration is that rental accommodation in Adelaide is often unfurnished or part-furnished, which means that you may also have the expense of buying some of your own furniture. Fortunately, there are many second-hand furniture shops in Adelaide, which offer good furniture at reasonable prices.
Shared Housing AccommodationThis entails living with other students in a house or apartment. Afterpayingweeklyrent,youmustalsopayforusageofgas,electricity, telephone and internet. Students must find this type of accommodation after they arrive in Adelaide.

If there is a good reason for the student not being happy in a homestay placement, we will endeavour to arrange an alternative placement.

How much money should I bring?
