Design Director: WRFL 88.1 Radio Free Lexington - (May 2012 - June 2013) Lexington, Kentucky Description: WRFL 88.1 Radio Free Lexington is the University of Kentucky’s college radio station composed of a board of student directors and a multitude of DJs from the local community. The board of directors is responsible for managing all aspects of the station and for consulting with the University’s Media Advisor. Weekly meetings are held to discuss issues, plan events, and vote on decisions. The Design Director is responsible for producing the station magazine, called the RiFLe, as well as any other graphic material needed. The RiFLe has four issues throughout the year and the written material is supplied by anyone associated with the radio station. The Design Director is responsible for collecting the written material, assembling it into a cohesive publication, creating the necessary graphics, and consulting with a local printing company.

Experience: - Collaborated with the board of directors to manage the station and helped create a new constitution that would allow the radio station to run more effectively as it continues to grow - Collaborated with the local music community to generate written material to be included in the RiFLe - Produced graphic material for the RiFLe and organized the written material to be published - Consulted with local printing companies to get the RiFLe printed in large volumes - Produced graphic material for marketing and station branding such as posters, flyers, logo design, and t-shirts - Put on a weekly radio show that featured music selected by the genre directors of the station

Office Studio Taipei - Taipei, Taiwan Description: One semester research and design studio that collaborated with architecture students from Hong Kong University and National Chiao Tung University to redevelop a historical train depot in Taipei, Taiwan. The project was initiated by the Mayor of Taipei and required us to meet and also collaborate with the local government officials in charge of urban planning. The studio was designed to imitate and therefore function as a small design firm so that each student had a specific role. Experience: - Led research team that analyzed the history of Taiwan but also the site and surrounding location in Taipei - Produced the maps and infographics from the research that was assembled into a comprehensive book - Led site strategy team to produce a comprehensive design that integrated renovated historical buildings with new construction - Responsible for designing the largest new construction on site that would be multi-use and cover 100,000 m2 - Produced the diagrams, the render images, and the drawings to be used in the final presentation - Helped construct the physical model for the final presentation

CultureNow Project, River Cities - Northern Kentucky Description: One year research and design studio to develop integrated architectural and urban strategies for the region of Northern Kentucky. The CultureNow Project is a collection of multiple architecture schools across the nation that focuses on solving complex urban issues. The first semester of the studio was dedicated to a comprehensive research project on the region. In the second semester the studio was divided into small teams that would each design a unique strategy addressing problems or opportunities found in the research.
