Dehumidifi cation

Desiccant ProductsThe Munters’ HoneyCombe™ desiccant wheel was invented by Carl Munters in the 1950s and to this day, is the core product in all Munters desiccant dehumidifi ers. Munters DDS products are a traditional desiccant unit, utilizing high temperature heat in the form of direct fi red gas, steam, high temperature hot water or electric to reactivate the wheel for low dewpoint applications. DryCool™ products, previously referred to as humidity control unit or HCU, utilize direct expansion condenser heat to reactivate the desiccant wheel while the evaporator provides cooling prior to the desiccant process. These system are designed to provide 100% makeup air at space neutral temperature and below space humidity.

Humidity and Temperature Control through Energy Recovery Energy recovery and dehumidifi cation are the key ingredients to this product family. A cooling coil is used to provide dehumidifi cation with heat exchangers providing energy recovery for free cooling prior to the cooling coil and free reheat after the cooling coil. Confi gurations are available with or without exhaust recovery.

ClimaFlex™ – The Munters ClimaFlex product line is a family of pre-engineered, modular

units designed to incorporate heat recovery, humidity control and other air treatment options.

These confi gurable systems range from 1,000 to 30,000 cfm and are suited for all climates,

applications and budgets. This product line off ers the design fl exibility of a custom-built unit with

all the effi ciencies of a standard product line. The ClimaFlex product line also introduces a new

generation of selection software, GENESYS. GENESYS is a simple solution that provides endless

confi guration layouts and options to create a system specifi cally designed for every customer’s

needs. Just a few clicks will generate your own specifi cation and mechanical layout.

Energy Recovery

Indirect Evaporative Cooling

Plate Heat Exchangers, Heat Pipes, Sensible and Enthalpy Wheels Exhaust recovery ventilation utilizes energy from the exhaust air stream to precondition the outside air being introduced into the building. In the winter it provides free heating and in the summer free cooling.

Oasis Products Direct evaporative cooling, indirect

evaporative cooling or the combination of

both is available in the Oasis™ product line.

In dry climates this allows for part, or all of

the cooling requirements of the building to

be met without refrigeration-based cooling.

Direct evaporative cooling utilizes Munters

CELdek™ and GLASdek™ evaporative pad.

Indirect evaporative cooling utilizes heat

pipes or the EPX polymer heat exchanger.

Units are available up to 100,000 cfm

with virtually any option and confi guration

available. Cooling, including packaged dx,

is available. Effi ciencies as high as 100 EER

have been achieved.
