Welcome Troop 110 is made up of scouts that are enthusiastic campers, hikers, swimmers and cooks. The Troop has earned Mision Peak District Distinguished Unit Award and the National Quality Unit Award. Troop 110 was started in 1985 as Troop 102, with five registered scouts. The Troop was chartered as 110 to the Contempo Homeowners Association in Union City in 1986. The Troop, which now has 26 registered scouts, meets at St Anne’s Church at 32223 Cabello St in Union City. Many of the Troop’s scouts excel in school and extracurricular activities while perfecting their scouting skills. The scouts find many opportunities for achievement, adventure and fun. For more information about Troop 110, visit our web site at www.bsatroop110.org. Meetings Meetings take place every Wednesdays at 7:30pm. The Patrol Leaders Councils meets the first Wednesday of each month. The council is comprised of patrol leaders, assistant patrol leaders and the senior scout leadership. During the PLC, Scouts plan the troops activities for the coming months. Each patrol also organizes its own meetings. Troop 110 holds a Court of Honor three times a year to award scouts their rank advancements and merit badge achievements, along with any other recognitions. Eagle is the highest advancementrank in Boy Scouting. Troop 110salutes its Eagle scouts.Since the troop’s founding, 69Troop 110 scouts have earned thedistinguished rank of Eagle.
ActivitiesMaking a Difference
The Troop’s motto of “Lead theWay” illustrates how the Troop isalways on the go. Over the pastyear or two, the Troop hasparticipated in a number ofactivities, including:
• Hikes: Mission Peak,Pinnacles, Mt. Tamalpais,Golden Gate Bridge
• Camping trips: MarinHeadlands, KlondikeDerby (snow), Pinnacles,Half Moon Bay
• Indoor Rally • District Dragon Boat Race
Other activities include:
• National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) • Mission Peak Fall Camporee • Cycling • Canoe Day • Pinnacles hike and campout • Snow Camp (Marin Sierra) • Grave Decoration at Golden

Trail to Eagle
Troop 110 is a boy-run Troop sinceleadership is one of the methods ofscouting. However, behind everysuccessful Boy Scout Troop arededicated adults who provideopportunity, advice and guidance.
One of the most difficult jobs of aleader is to accept the responsibilityof allowing the boys to make mis-takes in a controlled environment.In preparation for this task, many ofthe adult leaders have completedACORN training.
Troop parents also assist withfundraising and serving as meritbadge counselors. Troop 110 issuccessful because of the synergybetween the scouts and the adults.

In addition to participating in BoyScout sponsored events, such asScouting for Food, Troop 110scouts also participate in:
• Memorial Day Flag Planting • July 4th Community Activities • Make a Difference Day • Thanksgiving Meal Delivery
Many scouts also help thecommunity on their own by helpingin elementary classrooms, wateringfor elderly neighbors and meal &gift delivery with Viola Blythe.
