    BOXING IN PCYC

PCYC Boxing has a longstanding tradition within PCYC, given the historical importance of this activity

including the significance the sport has with our Fit for Life program, Boxing is an integral part of

    PCYC NSWs strategy moving forward.

Opportunities around boxing moving forwards are to increase local boxing programs so local fighters

can participate in regional tournaments. Plus to modernise some of our older boxing spaces to

incorporate some functional training space to encapsulate people who prefer to work out in that

type of environment but do not want to participate in amateur fights.

Note: Our goal with The Club Boxing Program is to continue to scale and increase participation and

revenue whilst maintaining the cost base with acceptable increases in line with revenue.

    SCHEDULING RECOMMENDATIONS

It is recommended that PCYC Clubs offer classes for all segments of the community that wish to participate in

Boxing in some form. Not all segments will be willing to participate together in the same class and each class

will have varying skills and needs from the instructor. It is recommended that you start by segmenting the

classes based off skill and having classes that will attract new participants.

    MARKETING & SALES

    Marketing

Marketing and Sales are not a one off thing! Marketing and sales are equally as important and must be

completed on a daily, weekly basis. Every time you market an activity, tis marketing will attract leads (people

who are interested), these leads must be spoken to and converted into members!!

    Marketing examples you’ll need to consider for your program;

    Collateral

Marketing can assist you in developing physical collateral to promote your program. Once developed, these

should be out in your community promoting what you do. In shops, sporting clubs or other places, these

should be in places where people who you are chasing frequent. I.e. Universities, shopping centres etc.

The images can be used for your digital marketing also.

    - Flyers, Posters Banners, Tear Drop Signs etc

    Signage

Ensure the outside of your club has some mention as to your activities! Especially if you are on a highly visible

road, the Activity you’re trying to promote should be visible to cars and pedestrians as they drive past, they

must include a call to action!

    Website

The website needs to be current, with class information and an easy way to book or find our more

    information.

    Digital strategy

Ensure consistency of message and inspirational & motivating posts are a frequent occurrence to attract new

    members using:

    - Facebook and Instagram

    - Social Groups on social media

    o Mums and parents Groups

    o Support Groups

    o Regional Noticeboards

    Relationships

    - Sporting Groups

    - Student Union (Universities, Tafes)

    - Groups and places users utilise within community

    Consistency

    - Consistency is everything, group fitness classes are a good example where if classes get cancelled

regularly due to instructors not being available, this will hurt membership numbers. Clubs must

ensure consistency with cleanliness of the gym, group fitness classes so members feel like they’re

getting value for their membership. Any chances should be communicated, and clubs should ensure

they have the capacity to fulfil classes.

    WOM

    - Word of Mouth is a great method of growth! If members are happy, engaged and feel welcome, they

will tell their friends. A specific marketing activity to engage friends and families of current members

is a great way to grow your membership.
